Redstar's Meeting
OOC: For the cats he called in the other topic.
IC: Redstar waited in his den, his twitching tail giving away his mood.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Hollowstripe padded into the den first, followed by Sorestare, who didn't struggle in looking exhausted and prepared to collapse there. Why does Redstar want me? He thought, squinting his poorly adjusting eyes to the atmosphere of the dark and open room. But he didn't need to see to know something was wrong... Obviously, what else could possibly be wrong now? As if everything else was bad enough as it is.
Hollowstripe was strangely thinking the same thing, but more in the thought of that soon retaliation of attack. But either way, she was too tired to care never less.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Sunmist pushed passed her brother, Gorseclaw, roughly so she would enter the den first. She made a point of ignoring Hollowstripe and sat close to Redstar, wrapping her tail around her paws respectfully.
Gorseclaw sighed, sitting a small ways away from his prickly sister. He looked at Redstar and nodded briefly, respectfully.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Jaycall slid into the den, sitting between Gorseclaw and Sunmist with such grace that you'd think he was doing it for a specific purpose. But he merely nodded to Redstar and mewed softly, "We're all here."

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Redstar nodded in return to Jaycall, the one of the only two kits of Thornstar he had no relation to.
"Do any of you trust me?", was the red tom's opener. "I know I was, for many of you, your deputy; but I turned against my leader. I mutinied, and I got others to follow me. None of you were a part of that. You all stayed with Thornstar (which is something I commend you all for, even those who were too young to make the choice). Each and every one of you have reason to not trust me, to believe I'll be the scourge of this clan. So, I have to know, as we will be heading into battle together; do any of you trust me?"
Redstar looked at each and every one of the warriors before him, resting his gaze on Hollowstripe. "There is no wrong answer," he murmured.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Hollowstripe gave cautious glances to each of the other cats piled around their leader, noticing they were gathered more around Sunmist then overall herself. Much of an underdog I am never less , she thought, returning her attention to Redstar.
" I understand that I haven't been alive long enough, or even old enough, to truly understand what you have done. Other peers around be may beg to differ about such loyalty to you. But during battle, You'd be the only one I could trust."
She stopped, noticing her corny lecture wouldn't allure anyone to see what she does.
Sorestare only sat in silence, waiting for another to speak before he made his impression.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Gorseclaw looked at the ground for a moment as he went into his thoughts.
"While I may not trust you personally, Redstar, I know you will give your last breath for the clan. I will follow you."
Sunmist looked at her brother, suppressing a scoff. Of course, he'd make nice.
The ginger and white she-cat looked at Redstar and mewed, "I trust you, Redstar."

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Redstar nodded to Gorseclaw. "I understand." He mewed a 'thank you' to Sunmist and said to Hollowstripe, "You'll make your own choice eventually." He looked to Jaycall and Sorestare.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Sorestare squinted his eyes as he usually did, assuming from the silence that it was his turn to speak. " I'd trust you through battle. But under the circumstance that our whole clan doesn't die in the process," He mewed, obviously referring to Smokepelt due to the concern that filtered in his tone.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Jaycall looked at the other cats he was surrounded by, gently lifting a paw the setting it down as he thought.
"Redstar," he mewed in his oddly soft voice, "I will not lie. I am wary of you. I trusted you; my father trusted you. You left. But," his tone became lighter. "I believe that you may yet prove yourself. You were only doing what you thought was right - but take care to remember we the little people." He dipped his head and fell silent, his blue eyes gleaming.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Redstar caught the deadpan humor in Jaycall's voice and nodded to him. He did not reply directly to the tom's personal views, not wishing to continue what now sounded like excuses for his actions against Thornstar.
Instead, he mewed to his senior warriors: "I have hopes for our efforts against our enemy. But I also have worries. We are a Clan without a medicine cat and wounded warriors, as well as some of our ranks missing."
He shook his head. "We will not face them alone. That is what we must hold on to."
The red tom stood, his tail coming out from underneath him in a graceful sweep. "And that is what we will make happen. Some of you will be sent into the lowlands. Soon enough, the Clan will follow into the Blood Stones in the spirit of the Gathering."

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Gorseclaw cocked his head. "Can we be sure Mudblood is not waiting at the Blood Stones?"

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Redstar flicked his tail. "The Bloodstones is a plateau right against DarkClan's territory. There are secret places there, Gorseclaw, secret places that are told to every DarkClan kit. We will use those to our advantage, whether Mudblood is there waiting or not. If they are - well - we held them off once. We may yet do it again."
The red tom's thick tail swished as he continued, "But if our defense there falls, we will follow those that are sent into the lower territories, and hope to meet them near the City." Redstar didn't want to be interrupted so he explained. "DarkClan once held an alliance with AbyssClan." His voice became a snarl. "If needed, we will remind Shadowstar and his forces that DarkClan does not forget."
While his words and expression were confident, worry was swarming Redstar's mind. He was three years old and only a moon into his leadership; already, he was preparing his Clan for war against what seemed to be impossible odds.
Thornstar, he pleaded in his mind, Please don't let me be leading them to their deaths!
OOC: DarkClan, not only paranoid, has a very strong belief in its strengths.

OOC: Tell me about it.
IC: Gorseclaw sat back, not quite satisfied.
Sunmist spoke up; "Who will be sent?"

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Redstar and Sunmist had never gotten along famously over the years, so he looked at the ginger and white she-cat cooly. "Whomever I choose, Sunmist."
He stood, shaking his fur. "And I will choose now." The tom left his den, padding past his senior warriors.

Re: Redstar's Meeting
Sunmist hissed through her teeth, eyes narrowing as she followed the red tom quickly.
Gorseclaw concernedly watched his littermate leave the spacious leader's den. As he'd mused before, Sunmist had been growing more and more ambitious - no, power hungry, ever since the Rebellion had returned. Most warriors knew Sunmist had been looking forward to the position of deputy and was furious when Hollowstripe had been chosen, even blaming the young deputy for the death of Smokepelt, an old friend of Sunmist's.
The beige warrior sighed heavily. He could only wonder what would happen next in the mysterious plot that was now his sister.
The tom left the den.
