Warrior Ceremonies - New Deputy

OOC: Let's get this show on the road...

IC: Redstar jerked awake from his dream, shaking the cobwebs and bits of golden grass from his mind.
He looked up at the rising sun and smirked. Well, guess it's time... May as well get it over with - Heh, Thornstar, you haven't lost your sense of humor yet. Redstar stood, quickly grooming his fiery red pelt until it shone. He stood, clawing the stone he'd been since before moon-fall the previous night. The Clan was busy, cats heading out on patrol, chatting as they ate - now or never.
"Let all cats who are old enough top catch their own prey gather here, beneath Gray Rock, for a Clan meeting!"

OOC: For those who may not remember, Smokepelt is Flowerpaw's mentor, and Lightingpelt is Hollowpaw's mentor... I'd like Meany and GH to do a quick assessment topic before entering their charries here.

OOC: GH hasn't been on frequently.

IC: Hollowpaw leaped out of the apprentice's den, her fur well cleaned and glowing brightly. It's time she thought happily to herself.

Sorestare, a Darkclan warrior, creeped out of the warriors den, being careful of where he stepped, since blindness wasn't far away for him. He walked next to Hollowpaw, still being able to admire her glowing pelt, "congratulations" he mewed softly as the young she-cat bounced to the Gray Rock with joy.

Hollowpaw didn't reply to the deformed warrior as she was too happy to speak, but in a near squeal, she mewed " thanks!"

[Runfast]

OOC: I noticed... Which is going to complicate things greatly...

IC: Redstar nodded to the apprentice and warrior.

Blizzardgaze paused mid-step. "Come on," she sighed to her patrol. "Let's see what's up."

Longfur slid out of the Elder's Den, glad to here that old call again after so long.
"Think Redstar is finally going to be appointing a deputy," he mewed friendly-like to Sorestare.

Goldpaw limped out of the apprentices' den. He was only days from being able to get back to training! He nudged his sister and mewed, "Do you think our uncle's gonna choose a deputy?"

[Meany]

Lightningpelt smoothly joined Hollowpaw.
"Excited?" Lightningpelt was thrilled that she'd gotten her apprentice this far, and she was proud of everything Hollowpaw had achieved in her moons of training.

Cloudfeet did a scuttle walk (something he did to be funny) and sat next to Blizzardgaze.
"Aw, don't be angry, Blizzardgaze. You'll be back leading your patrol before you know it!"

Bronzepaw padded with his brother, his thoughts focused on Blackfire (his vanished mentor), Foamingwater (the rogue he had hidden in the woods), and his mother - foster and biological.

OOC: this ought-to be fun then -.-

IC: Hollowpaw looked at her mentor, joy gleaming in her eyes. " what? does it show?" she mewed sarcastically.

Sorestare smirked at the 'apprentice', then turned to longfur " lets just hope, and wait for the best" he replied with a calm tone, and walked with the elder.

[Longstorm]

Silverpaw shrugged, padding with her brothers.
"Maybe - he's been quiet lately, so maybe he's been making his decision." She nodded to Hollowpaw, looking just as excited as Silverpaw was feeling. Her friend was becoming warrior!

Gorseclaw and Sunmist joined the group, Sunmist gesturing to her apprentice, Silverpaw.
"Are you going to join us?"
Gorseclaw looked over at his half-siblings, his thoughts drifting back to Jaycall and Robinsong, and ultimately, Patchfur, his and Sunmist's mother; she had beautiful calico fur...

Hollowpaw then looked around the gathering clanmates, Where was Flowerpaw? the excitement drained nearly full from her... she then padded to Silverpaw quickly, " have you seen Flowerpaw?" she asked in a concerned tone.

[Guest]

Sneaking up behind her he answered, "Nope, haven't seen her in a while."

[NKninja]

Jumping from the sound of the young apprentice, Hollowpaw turned around to look at Limitpaw " wonder where she is" she thought out loud, keeping her tail low. Maybe she was chasing that falcon?

OOC: maybe Flowerpaw's recognition could be now?

[Longstorm]

OOC: I'll RP her.

IC: Flowerpaw padded in hastily, flashing an excited glance at her friend. I'm going to be a warrior!
The assessment with Smokepelt had gone well - but something was still bothering her ever so slightly.
What did Smokepelt mean, a chance lost in fantasy? Why doesn't he just talk normal like everyone else, she thought in a huff.

Silverpaw nodded towards Flowerpaw.
"There she is." The gray she-cat looked up to the Gray Rock and nudged Hollowpaw in a friendly manner. "Better head up! Looks like my uncle is eager to begin."

That was where Flowerpaw was headed, and she was gesturing to Hollowpaw.

OOC: Proceed.

Hollowpaw turned around to see Flowerpaw ready as ever. She flickered her tail in anticipation, in the same ceremony, her best friend was going to be a warrior with her! " okay" she simply mewed as she sprang right next to Flowerpaw. Nearly immediately, she tilted her head high to look at least a bit mature, but a kit like smile of joy swept across her face like the leafbare breeze.
" it's happening finally" she purred to Flowerpaw " we're going to be warriors, together!"

[Longstorm]

Flowerpaw grinned back.
"I'm glad we made it - together!" Everything she'd gone through - ridicule by Thornstar, held back by Redstar, everything; it was all worth it.

OOC: Sorry I'm doing her so poorly - she really isn't mine, lol.

Silverpaw and the rest of the crowd followed in the apprentice's wakes, the apprentice's mentors ahead of the crowd, but behind those they had spent moons teaching.

Sunmist padded to the near-front of the crowd, she and her brother taking a seat. Gorseclaw leaned over to his sister and whispered,
"If anyone deserves to be deputy, it's you."
Sunmist glanced at her brother, flicking her tail nervously. "Yes," was her only reply.

[Runfast]

Redstar looked down on the two apprentices, thoughts of Thornstar swirling in his head. He cleared his throat quietly and mewed,
"Today we have the pleasure of introducing new warriors. Smokepelt," he looked to said tom. "Has your apprentice completed her training? Is she prepared to become a warrior?"

[Meany]

Smokepelt looked at Flowerpaw and nodded curtly.
"Indeed. None can fight like her." Which was true, as she seemed to make things up as she went along. Not a bad thing anymore, now that she was more structured.

[Runfast]

Redstar nodded to him then looked to Lightningpelt. "Lightningpelt. Can you say the same?"

[Meany]

The yellow she-cat slid a sly glance Hollowpaw's way and paused for a long, treacherous moment. "Of course," she burst out, a smile in her eyes, "Her intellect is a boon to our Clan."

OOC: How's that, then? oh, Btw - I just heard... Congrats, NK.

[Runfast]

Redstar's whiskers twitched in amusement, the tension leaving his shoulders. "Well, alright." He jumped off of the Gray Rock, approached the apprentices, and called to all who could here, "I, Redstar, Leader of Darkclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their own turns." He padded up to Flowerpaw first. "Flowerpaw. Do you swear to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"

[Longstorm]

Flowerpaw never wavered, thoughts of her bird and cat friends, thoughts of allies and enemies, miracles and curses, all of this whirling through her head. "I do."

[Runfast]

"Then by the power of Starclan, I give you your warrior name; Flowerpaw, from this day forward you will be known as Flowerfoot. We honor your enthusiasm and quick-thinking, and we welcome you and a full warrior of Darkclan." He placed his chin atop her head.

Goldpaw called out first,
"Flowerfoot, Flowerfoot, Flowerfoot," Longfur and the others joining in.

Redstar held his tail up for silence, turning his attention to Hollowpaw, exhaling gently. He paused for a heartbeat and mewed, "Hollowpaw. Do you swear to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

[NKninja]

Hollowpaw's eyes just slightly turned to Flowerfoot, " i do" she simply mewed, purring under her breath.

OOC: surprise me for the name please

[Runfast]

OOC: I'll try... I'm trying to keep it from being offensive, and from being mystical, but haveing something to do with her, or the dream (that you'll learn about soon). You know, you just had to choose the most complicated name EVAR...lol...

IC: Redstar nodded and announced, "Then by the power of Starclan I give you your warrior name; Hollowpaw, from this moment of you will be known as Hollowstripe. We honor your intelligence and your enthusiasm and we welcome you as a full warrior into Darkclan." He placed his chin atop her head.

OOC: How's that?

OOC: that's fine by me

IC: Sorestare listened to Redstar's words and Cheered " Flowerfoot, Hollowstripe, Flowerfoot, Hollowstripe!"

Hollowstripe felt pride and joy blaze through her heart, an apprentices wish finally came true!

[Runfast]

The crowd slowly began to disperse, but Redstar unleashed a harsh, but not unfriendly, yowl, freezing everyone in their tracks.
"Wait." He looked to his dark brown nephew, Bronzepaw. "Bronzepaw, you have been without a mentor since Blackfire, with so many others, vanished into the night. I now name your new mentor."

[Meany]

Bronzepaw, in the back of the crowd, cocked his head in confusion. I... What? Now? He slowly padded up to the front, dipping his head to his uncle. Who shall it be?

[Runfast]

"From this day forward," Redstar turned to Hollowstripe, "Hollowstripe shall be your mentor." He studied her face for a brief moment then mewed - almost just for her, but loud enough for others to hear - "You are young, but Lightningpelt was a good mentor to you. I know you will pass on her compassion and intelligence and humor." He beckoned Bronzepaw forward.
