Leaving for the Gathering Empty Leaving for the Gathering

Post by Runfast Tue Oct 04, 2011 1:07 am

Redstar came out his den, noting the setting sun. (OOC: He did NOT spend all day in his den... I hope.) He looked around the camp and was glad to see that most of his Clan was out and about. He looked for Hollowstripe, ready to hear her take on who should attend the Gathering.

Near the entrance the warriors den Hollowstripe sat with Flowerfoot. When she noticed Redstar was out of his den, she stood up and padded towards him. She as well noticed the sun setting to soon reveal the full moon.
When she stood beside Redstar, her eyes turned to him, " Who do you think should go?" she asked

Redstar nodded to his deputy and looked to the cats in the clearing. "Hmm - Flowerfoot, definitely. She's a new warrior - like you - and deserves to be announced to the Clans. Rainfoot and Smokepelt (they didn't go last time) - and Lightningpelt. She'll want to see you introduced..." He gave Hollowstripe a side-long glance. "She's very fond of you." Redstar paused. "Can you think of another? I don't want to leave the Clan unprotected."

She looked around the clearing, thinking of who else deserves to come to the gathering, " I say we should bring an apprentice or two, Possibly Goldpaw, or Limitpaw?"
Her eyes were fixed on the apprentice den, Knowing that her nights sleeping there were done.

Redstar thought of Goldpaw's injury and began to shake his head, but stopped. "Better yet," he mewed, "Both of them would be fine. There'd be a fine amount of strong warriors and witty minds left behind." He smirked a moment. "And Limitpaw has been just dying to attend his first Gathering, from what I've heard." Redstar nodded in approval. "Nicely done." He proceeded to call, "We leave now for the Gathering - just for fun, I'll call the lineup once more - but with two more." Redstar's eyes glittered as he called, "Rainfoot, Smokepelt, Lightingpelt, Flowerfoot and Goldpaw and Limitpaw."

Goldpaw sat up, his sour attitude forgotten. "YES!" he yowled, and padded forward.

Silverpaw's ears drooped when she wasn't called but said to Hollowstripe, "Tell me how it goes," and she sat down.

Meanwhile, Sunmist's tail lashed. "He doesn't want me to go because he doesn't want me to speak the truth to the other Clans," she spoke with a calm cadence. This worried Gorseclaw immensely, but it made him feel better about not attending the Gathering.
"Goodbye," he called. "Don't let Abyssclan bully you." That was more directed to the apprentices since Abyssclan was known for taunting the younger cats of the Clans.

Hollowstripe, behind Redstar gave a quick and quiet nod to Silverpaw, and walked on with not another word.

With an unconcerned glance back to the patrol, Sorestare expected the clan to be at stake now! If that 'kit' is still there, the other clans would never take them seriously. He quickly spat and walked back into the warriors den, unamused with the day.

OOC: Flowerfoot, right? ookey, then.
IC: Flowerfoot wanted to run ahead of everyone. She was a warrior now, attending her first Gathering as a full cat of the clan, no longer to be glanced over as a hyperactive, nosy apprentice. Then she remembered that no other warrior ran ahead of Redstar, so she fell in step with Hollowstripe.
"How does it feel?" she asked, unable to contain a small giggle. "Being a warrior, I mean."
