His white paws touched the ash covered forest floor. His clear green eyes dull with sadness and his right paw still bloodstained from his first murder. Stormclaw sniffed as he decsended the hill he had ran over to escape the flames. He looked around at the place he used to call home, despite the season, the trees and plants looked dead and black. The forest no longer felt welcoming, but was like going through a tunnel with bright sunlight breaking through, but not a single ray of it warmed his fur.

The stench of smoke stung his nose, and the burnt grass beneath his paws crumbled away with ease. He strained his ears for the slightest sond, nothing. No birdsong, no rustling, not even the wind made a sound through the trees.
memories swept over Stormclaw as he imagined the forest before, it would usually be alive with welcoming smells and the trees where filled with their green leaves. But not now... Not now...
