The Questers- Hell in the barn!
Dawn had just broke and the large group; consisting of:
Sinewpaw, Mosspaw, Cold, Joyless, Hollypaw, Icepaw, Blackfire, Jace, Jazz and Snowfeather along with Jazz, Commons, Dark, Scorchpoint and Bluepaw were trotting west.
They were tired and some were upset.
Four nights before; They had left several cats in Darkclan, those cats had not joined caught up and they did not know what had happened to them. After two nights there was a vicious storm caused some stragglers off course and the large group left were cold and worried. Some wished for home yet they journeyed on.
Joyless set her eyes upon the old barn closing in from ahead. She could smell the horses from this point and she was excited to see the barn. The walls would shelter them from the wind and the roof would shelter them from rain. If they were really lucky there would be something warm to lie on in there.
As soon as this is over... She thought happily I'm going home. I'm going to take my kits and leave, after this Mudbloodclan is over... perhaps even Switchblade will come with me. But she had a terrible inner feeling he wouldn't.
Sinewpaw flanked Mosspaw. He watched as deer cantered near the fur forest and stopped to watch them. The sun felt good on his short black fur and his whiskers twitched in amusement. "I can't wait till we get home. this'll be an adventure we can tell for generations!"
OOC:
Just to help you out a bit.

NOTE: We should be meeting up at bloodstone at the end of this!

Re: The Questers- Hell in the barn!
OOC: Dunno about the Bloodstone, but it kinda makes sense... Now I just need to figure out the span of time between the Questers heading off and Shadowstar's death so I can match it up - and what about the Bloodmoon?
Maybe the Questers got the rain first and then it hit the territories, soooo that would put the Bloodmoon tomorrow night for these guys or something?
Sorry about the size, but I REALLY want to know...
IC: Mosspaw was horrendously tired - but she flashed a grin at Sinewpaw. "Yeah - I bet no warrior has been on a journey like this since the great Migration! We'll be legends forever!" Indeed, the young she-cat liked the idea of being famous in her own Clan - but what she didn't say to Sinewpaw was that she was scared that they wouldn't live long enough to become heroes, or that most legendary figures died on their quests.
Mosspaw stifled a shiver and focused on the strange smelling two-leg nest ahead. "Think it's safe there?"
Cold padded along in silence, standing near to the Abyssclannians and Cityclannians of the group. Blood is the strongest bond, one of the many mantra of the sister Clans.
But as near as he was to Scorchpoint, Joyless, Commons, Jazz and Dark (he'd learned the names of the Cityclannians over the past few days) his ears were swiveled towards the calico Tawnyclanner, padding alongside the tom-apprentice.
It was bothering him that he'd yet to put his claw on what felt like a memory, or a familiarity that she brought to his mind.
The pale tom sighed softly, scowling as the knot of fur on his hind leg was almost caught in a bramble - yes, the knot of fur that concealed the smallest fragment from the Stone of the Moon, his most precious possession. Cold held it more dearly than his own claws, honor, and life, even if he wasn't exactly sure why. Above help if any should discover I have it, he thought heatedly as they approached what the Cityclannians called a 'barn'.
OOC: Jazz is in both groups???

OOC: We need to get going if were gonna reach the next moon in time.
IC:
The next morning, they had gotten up early and were fortunate with catching plenty of mice in the warm shed.
They had, had no problems on entering through a gap in the shed in the late of night yesterday and no disturbance in their sleep. They were now preparing to leave.

Re: The Questers- Hell in the barn!
Jace stretched, getting the kinks out of his back as he woke. He kinda missed Tala, the ornery old she-cat from his Clan. They'd left her back in Shadowclan, or Darkclan, or whatever they were called.
He looked around at the rag-tag group he was with and wondered if any of them were actually sane.
We can't be - we're doing THIS.
He sighed and looked around to see where Cold was - he liked that tom, quiet, but smarter than everyone else. Like me.
Icepaw was already awake, looking out the hole in the barn they'd come in. He wanted to get a move on, wanted to talk to someone, wanted to do ANYTHING but just stand around.
I'm all alone here..
Scorchpoint had already awoke. He was perched atop a pile of hay (Strange seeing grass like this.) and was thinking about his brother, Searingeyes. Wonder what's going on at home...

Re: The Questers- Hell in the barn!
As the thirteen cats were about to leave, a ferocious roar filled the air. The cats of the group spun around to see the largest cats they had ever seen.
"MOUNTAIN LION," Bluepaw yowled - though she'd only ever heard the stories, the stories were very descriptive. These terrifying creatures fit it to the letter.
The giant cats attacked, covering many fox-lengths in a single leap. Rather than stay and fight, Scorchpoint herded Dark and a few others out of the opening they so happened to be closest to.
Only four managed to escape that way - or had they really escaped?
"BLUEPAW!" Icepaw yowled as her heard her shriek in terror outside, then was silenced.
As for the others, they fled. None of them were stupid enough to attempt to take on a creature that was so much like them, yet ten times bigger than they were.
They ran, some taking injuires, but they ran anyways. They only just managed to escape via small holes that the lions crashed into, roaring in frustration as they just missed their prey. But perhaps the cats had merely been intruders? Or had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time?
They would never know.
Aside from the four that must have met their mournful demise, the Questers escaped. The final lineup - at least until others fell away - were Sinewpaw and Mosspaw of Tawnyclan, Joyless and Cold of Abyssclan, Icepaw and Blackfire of Darkclan, Jace and Jazz of Cityclan, and Snowfeather of Dewclan.
So small compared to the many they had begun with.
The nine fled further up the mountains, unknowingly still following the rising moon, bringing them ever closer to the point of their quest.
