In the Night

Silverpaw was breaking the rules. Yes, yes she was -she wasn't such a big stickler for tradition as everyone thought she was. Nope. There she was, atop Look-Out Ledge. The Gathering patrol wouldn't be back until late the next night - they had left the night before - so it was kinda stupid to be sitting there in the middle of the night. But something was off.
Down the mountain, a fair two-day journey, Silverpaw was certain she could see something. It wasn't the rising sun, Silverpaw knew this (the sun rose over their mountains and set over the far City, less than a smudge it was so very far away). So what was it?
"What is it..."
Her thoughts drifted to her foster-mother, Skyecho and her death, then to her true mother, Blueblossom - trapped in the Frost Forests. Oh, Skyecho, she thought to the stars, Look after her and the kits there.
Silverpaw's attention was drawn back to the strange glow. I wish I could smell it!
The scent was too far away. The gray she-cat sighed heavily, sitting on the cold ledge.

OOC: I mean - maybe the person bringing the message to Frost was like a relay race? One cat to another, like 'telephone', passing on the message? And the Mudblood cats moved in when they saw the fire?
