Despairingcall lay lazily atop a branch that was more than one hundred feet off the ground. It was thick and comfortable, and the birds came there frequently to speak to him. He looked at the strange gray bird (joining his sight with the black bird) and thought,
You again? What do you want? "I require her attendance," he whispered in the minds of birds nearby.

More birds, robins, hawks, the odd eagle began to perch in the trees above the patrols. When the patrols passed the trees, the birds moved on to other trees so they could stay close. The eerie thing was they all stayed silent.

A robin perched next to the gray bird and sang.

The ragged gray bird responded with it's harsh cry - soon, but not now.


Shadesun looked up at all of the birds. Fire gulped nervously.
"They're on our side," Shadesun whispered to him, and Fire nodded.

OOC: Lol.. Were bombarding them are we not. Lets try and make bigger paragraphs...

Tigerflame sneered, "Don't be so mean! They might get angry and clack their tooth picks at us!"
He smiled oddly at Cunningheart.
"Anyone fancy a run?"
Wolfpaw's tail flew up, He liked speeding across the thick vegetation.
Rainstorm nodded, "I'm up for it."

OOC: UH-OH....

IC: Cold watched the cats take off and noticed that the birds all looked like they were getting ready to take off...

When the patrol began to run, Despairingcall chuckled.
"Get them."

The many hundreds of birds took flight as one, chasing the nasty Tawnyclan along the border. Those with talons and sharp beaks clawed and bit at the cat's backs while those without settled for pecking. No, they weren't trying to kill them, just give them the scare of their lives!
(OOC: Like a scene from The Birds)

Shadesun watched in awe, his jaw slack.

It was Fire who broke the silence. The usually quiet Choosing;
"HAHAHAHAHAH!"

Shadesun could only join in, and the two of them chased after the flock and enemy patrol (keeping to their side of the border).

Switchblade smiled, The birds were going to do something that'll make this a bit more exciting. "Come Cold, Lets not let these spinless Foresters pass us." He took off. Tigerflame was fast, but how fast?

[Longstorm]

OOC: Aw, SMACK!

IC: Cunningheart smiled broadly at the birds' attack and took off after Shadesun and Fire, Paleclaw and the others following.
"Get them, get them!" Paleclaw yowled to the birds. Cunningheart laughed happily, watching the expressions of the Tawnyclanner's change when they realized that they were being pursued.

OOC: Switchy, stun us with your imagination, will you?

Swiftstrike pcked up her pace.

OOC: I hope you mean your Switchy not mine...

Tigerflame looked up and laughed, "So this is how Abbysclan fights?" He smiled wirly.
"Guess your were right Cunningheart... Whitepaw must have been weak to fall to you
guys.Tawnyclan, lets shred some feathers?"
Rainstorm nodded.

Swiftstrike frowned at the birds.

OOC: These are mostly big, meat-eating birds...

IC: Despairingcall smirked at Tigerflame's remark. The birds changed formation, the flock taking the form of a giant cat in the sky, it's large claws being many birds dive-bombing and clawing the cats as the went. The giant head surged forward, the birds screaming in fury as they all made a suicide dive directly at the cats.

OOC: How;s that?

Cunningheart watched, an odd grin on her face. She looked around and spotted one of the taller trees deep into Abyssclan and spotted a dark shape on one of the white branches.
"It's your father," she told Switchblade who was running alongside her.

"Those Above bless him and his sense of humor!" Paleclaw called over the noise, laughter in his voice.

[Loki]

Switchblade laughed. "My... my it seems the foresters have their tails twisted."

"Now!" Tigerflame snapped and he and the others jumped out of the boggy mud that they had been standing in.

Swiftstrike smiled inwardly this was a good plan.

Tigerflame laughed. The first few birds had crashed straigh into the boggy mud. IF they got out, they would have trouble flying, this mud was fresh clay like, it would stick to their wings. "Tawnyclan will eat well tonight." He commented. But many of the birds perhaps would have wised up and seen their Conrads fall or disappear the mud, unless they really were stupid....

"hehe, Come on Abbysclan... your depressing us with your predictability."
Tigerflame Yawned.

Swiftstrike looked over at tigerflame and thought cockiness brings down fall

[Longstorm]

Cunningheart rolled her eyes.
"Well, this has begun to get boring..." She slowed down to a walk, as did the rest of the patrol.

Paleclaw watched the weaker, smaller birds get trapped in the mud while the large birds pulled up sharply.

Cunningheart rolled her eyes. Despairingcall wouldn't care if Tawnyclan ruined his fun, but he would miss the birds that fell. She resumed scenting the border, making sure no one had crossed.
"You forget, Tigerpaw," she called over the noise, "We don't attack unless you cross the border." She padded away, continuing to smell the border.

Paleclaw joined her.
"Aren't we going to do something?"

Cunningheart shook her head.
"No. The Powerful can handle himself."

OOC: They're only cats, remember. How do cats fare against 400 birds of prey and 200 ordinary birds?

OOC: Yes, I know. But We didn't techincally fight them, we left the mud to do that...
IC:
Tigerflame laughed, "How boring, until next time, Servant rat."

He shoudn't be so cocky swiftstrike thought it only brings trouble.

[Longstorm]

Cunningheart just laughed, in too good a mood to allow a youngling to bother her.
OOC: She's a seasoned warrior, about 7 years old.
IC: She padded off to the next bit of the border, scenting and marking, quietly singing in some unknown language.

Paleclaw joined in, recognizing the tune. (OOC: I'm not going to bother writing the language.) The translation was,
"The world has fallen far behind, though the light of the sun is nigh,

That was only a part of the song, but it grew with every generation. It was said that only the Powerfuls knew the entire song and, if asked, they would recite it. Of course, only Abyssclan knew the language.

OOC: And how much Lotr have you been reading?

IC: Shadesun joined in, singing in his alto voice. Fire, knowing only small parts, mainly hummed.

Shadesun watched the Tawnyclanners, but he kept his voice strong. Breaking beat he mewed,
"How sad it is, the Foresters don't have our songs!" and resumed singing.

Tigerflame smiled cooly, "Thats because Tawnyclan have better things to do then sing songs and frolic in the flowers... Lets go..." He padded further up the border line with Rainstorm and The others...
