Frostshine was really, really sorry that he didn't know how to help Lightningpelt. He didn't like her tone.
"Hey," he practically snapped back. "I'm a warrior. I trained as a warrior. Not a healer. I'm only doing what I'm comfortable with, but if you want to start gobbling down herbs to see if they work, well - well NO. Not on my watch. The herbs are about three pawsteps in front of you, too. I'll take the Ragweed, and you'll take the skinny yellow herb. Careful - they're dry and fragile. I mean, you can still use your mouth even though you can't see." He nodded - then was shocked. Frostshine usually would never take that tone with someone. He'd try to reason with them, make them see sense in a diplomatic fashion.
Doesn't mean I'm gonna apologize. Then he said so. "And I'm not gonna apologize for snapping, either. So don't ask." He picked up the Ragweed.

Lightningpelt bristled. "What," she hissed. "How dare you speak to me like that? I'm still useful, I'm still Lightningpelt, one of the best warriors in the Clan even when I'm blind!" She lunged forward and batted at where she thought Frostshine was judging by the volume of his voice and his scent.

Frostshine dropped the Ragweed and jerked back as Lightningpelt hit him with heavy paws. "Ow-OW! I never said that! No one says that! The only cat who's ever thought that is YOU!" He batted back at Lightningpelt. "Everyone still knows who you are - we're just waiting for you to come BACK!"

Lightningpelt yowled in fury as the tom hit her back. She hadn't expected him to she was BLIND. "You'd hit a blind cat! Where are your manners!?!" Then what he said hit her (and his paws). She dropped out of battle mode. Come back? "Come back? I didn't go anywhere..." Then it hit her AGAIN (and Frostshine's paws.) Well, she HAD been moping around the camp for a while...But her brother had died! And she was blind now!
And I sound like a whiny apprentice and OH MY GOD I'M A WHINY APPRENTICE. "Smokepelt," she meowed quietly, kinda in protest. "I...I'm missing a piece. Smokepelt."

Frostshine stopped batting the yellow she-cat. "I know," he meowed. "Skyecho," he said in a way 'I feel your pain' way. "But we're still alive. We still gotta live. We have to move on - that doesn't mean that we forget them. We remember them, and live." He shrugged even though Lightningpelt couldn't see it. "It takes time." He picked up the scattered Ragwort. "But we move on," he spoke around the herbs. "Come on. They'll be waiting. Or leaving without us. One of those."

Lightningpelt pondered the young warrior's words. "Good words...You could be the next healer," she meowed jokingly, some of her fire already coming back. "This is the first time I've heard you say so much in one go EVER." She reached out a paw and felt around for the long, skinny herbs.

"Ha, ha, ha," Frostshine meowed around the Ragwort. "Very funny. I'm a warrior." He pushed the yellow skinny herbs into Lightningpelt's reach.

Lightningpelt shrugged and grinned. She felt the herbs and flicked her ears in thanks and carefully picked them up. "Weird plants," she meowed past the bundle of dried nastiness. She turned and started to pad towards the exit of the camp.

Frostshine's eyes widened. "Hey," he mumbled past the Ragwort (OOC: Drinking game.), "Those 'weird plants' could be all that stands between life and death!" He followed Lightningpelt out of the camp, nodding to Redstar as they passed.

[Meany]

Lightningpelt purred, all of Redstar's awkwardness forgotten and an edge taken off of the bite that was the grief in her heart.
She'd get better.
Lightningpelt left the camp to join The Great Host with some herbs.

Frostshine purred with Lightningpelt and left the camp with her.
