CLOSED Waiting to Leave

[Longstorm]

Sunmist, a senior warrior she-cat of her Clan, was pacing around the camp. She knew Redstar would soon be giving the line-up for those who would be heading into the lower territories, and she wanted on that list.

Hollowstripe, padding across the clearing, noticed how hyped up Sunmist was today. Even due to the disturbing and shocking things that had happened in the past days, she just was disgusted on such ignorance from a fellow clan-mate. She scowled in her thoughts, but didn't imitate it in physical ways.
Today was going to be definitely an eyesore, whatever was going to happen, was going to be hell for not herself, but the possibilities of the others chosen to lead.

OOC: @NKNinja - you should check out my newest/lastest post in Redstar's Meeting, where Redstar reveals the rest of his plan to the senior warriors (lol, I am a book description!).

IC: Redstar padded past the few warriors that were left from the vigil pf Smokepelt the previous night. The leader snaked his way up the Gray Rock and looked down at the waking Clan.
"Let all cats old enough to walk the treacherous mountain paths gather here beneath Gray Rock for a Clan meeting."

OOC: I read it. We're all good here.

IC: Hollowstripe nodded reluctantly to herself as she turned to Redstar, her chest a bit puffy from eagerness and tension. The plan repeated in her head, over and over. But what to do after that was another problem they had to conclude, or re explain to herself. No need to freak out, its only a battle, I'll be side by side with Redstar, everything will work.

OOC:God! It's been forever since I've last posted here.

IC:Limitpaw scuttled out from the apprentices den, and was as far as she could get from the other apprentices letting out a reluctant sigh," Why am I so different? I just want to have friends like everyone does." Just at the thought had whirling black clouded emotions coming from him. He swayed and muttering under his breath in doing so, only one statement could be heard,"Why don't I crawl into a cave and rot?" Limitpaw just stood there like a twig with even the slightest of touch he would snap.

[Runfast]

OOC: Blackpaw - you know your cat is about old enough to get his warrior name, right?

IC: Blizzardgaze padded over to the Gray Rock. She looked up at Redstar and wondered who would be sent, now that the time had come and the sun was well and rising.

Longfur, in turn, joined the gathering Clan. He knew he wouldn't be sent, but he wanted to hear.

Goldpaw quickly made his way over to the Gray Rock. He wanted to go - he really did.

Redstar looked down at his Clan. He had a fair idea on who he would send, but he was checking his mental list twice. As the cats were still coming, but in earshot, he began to speak.
"DarkClan," he mewed gravely. "As we all know, the Mudblood threat is taking over and their numbers are staggering; we cannot face such a force alone. So, I will choose a number of our best and send them into the lower territories to contact the other Clans, in hope that they will unite with us and beat back the Mudbloods, forever. Not long after they are sent out, the Clan will follow, resting at the Blood Stones in the spirit of the Gathering."

Longfur looked around. Well, he'd never been happier that there were no kits in the camp.

Redstar looked at each and every one of his warriors. "Those who I name will be the ones to go; Sorestare. Gorseclaw. Hollowstripe. Bronzepaw. Silverpaw..." Redstar looked down at another apprentice. "And Limitpaw." The red leader stepped up further on the Gray Rock. "Limitpaw; come forward."

Goldpaw was dismayed that he hadn't been chosen to go. I'm a smart fighter - as witty as my sister! As tricky as my brother! Why can't I be allowed to go? Why do my siblings go when I can't?

Limitpaw padded forward trying look calm at what was about to happen.
Limitpaw looked around staring his clan-mates he would be one of them soon a warrior.


ooc: can his warrior name be LimitHeart? Or maybe something else, even if you change his first name.

Hollowstripe, enlightened and amazed to Limitpaw, raised her head a bit in appreciation to the apprentice.. Or Warrior at that. Limitpaw did deserve to be a warrior, but the others did too... Why did Redstar choose only Limitpaw to become a warrior from all the over-aged apprentices? Either way from the thought, she smiled to her friend.

Flowerfoot who had sat next to Hollowstripe, also was enlightened, but represented it much more then her best friend, by purring, lifting her chin and slightly flicking her tail from side to side. She actually didn't like the apprentice one bit, but they needed another respected paw in battle. (OOC: Yes, I did get permission to RP her)

Near the front of the gathering warriors, Sorestare was squinting his eyes to watch the apprentice step forward. Good, another warrior ceremony to make us forget what's at stake, he mumbled under his breath.

OOC: @Blackpaw - actually, I was thinking about the name Mustardtail. Limitpaw is yellow and his tail is broken - that, and mustard grows in DarkClan's climate.

IC: Redstar looked down at Limitpaw, knowing time was short. He jumped off of the Gray Rock and began to speak. "I, Redstar, leader of DarkClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn...Limitpaw; do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"
Redstar's dark gaze flicked over to the three eldest apprentices. To him, they were still very young, and had started their training too late for them to earn their names at this moment.

Goldpaw's eyes narrowed and his claws unsheathed. Limitpaw's receiving his name - not me? Not my siblings? We'll be the only apprentices left here in the Clan - and the eldest in Clan history! The gold tom sunk his claws into the packed dirt that made the camp's ground.
First my siblings are sent into the fray without me, then we're left hanging in the apprentice's den?! Goldpaw shook his head harshly, though briefly, much of his rage only inside.

Blizzardgaze cocked her head when she heard the line-up. Of course I won't be sent. I'm half-blind as it is. The only other great warrior I can think of who's not being sent is Lightningpelt...though, I doubt she'll ever be able to act as a warrior again.
The pale she-cat sighed, lamenting the loss of the battle prowess of Lightningpelt; Well, at least her former apprentice is being sent.

OOC: I don't like it I was really hoping for my choice or a different one because I don't like that Mustard tail but you are the leader so you chose

IC:Limitpaw stepped forward smiling What know Goldpaw giving him a grin of evil"Yes I promise to keep my clan safe even at the cost of my life."
Limitpaw bowed to the leader waiting to get his warrior name in response to his pledge.

OOC: Pbbbbt... Ashentail? Mustardheart? Brokentail? Something, something, something! I can't just give you a name you don't like! (and using the prefix yellow is just a bad idea...)

@Blackpaw - WAIT! I got a better suffix!

IC: Redstar looked back at Limitpaw and nodded. "Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name: Limitpaw - " Redstar fell silent, shaking his head. "'Limit'. It just doesn't suit you." The red leader looked to the wet skies. "StarClan, you know every cat by name; I ask you now to take away this tom's name, for it no longer stands for who he is... By my authority as Clan leader, and with approval of StarClan, I give this cat a new name. Limitpaw, from this day forward you shall be known as Mustardstorm, for you have been through much suffering but have come out all the stronger for it. We honor your long-suffering and your endurance, and we welcome you as a full warrior of DarkClan."

[Longstorm]

OOC: The fact that no one's responding to this is making me worry...

IC: Gorseclaw looked at the apprentice-turned-warrior and exhaled in resignation before calling "Mustardstorm! Mustardstorm!"

Sunmist glanced over at her brother then at Mustardstorm. This was just another cat who was going when Sunmist wasn't. She blew some fur out of her face and muttered, "Mustardstorm, Mustardstorm..."

Silverpaw stood of straighter. "Mustardstorm! Mustardstorm!"

OOC: People forget... Like I did
And Daaaang! To what Sunmist was before... It's a bit freaky!

IC: Hollowstripe gave out a cheer for Mustardstorm, but briefly cut on the Fifth cheer when she noticed how Sunmist reacted to such an honor. Not even happy for a faithful warrior? she shook her head slowly and curtly.

Flowerfoot didn't notice how annoyed Hollowstripe was, as she only cheered with some lines of affection, Let's hope he doesn't miss this battle.

[Runfast]

After letting the cheers go on for a short time (OOC: And how.), Redstar raised his tail for silence. "Now you must go. Mustardtail, this journey will act as your vigil. I wish you all the best of luck. The rest of us will be joining you soon enough, but until then, may StarClan light your paths."
The leader nodded to Mustardtail and stepped back, his amber eyes flickering over the cats he had named to join the leaving patrol.
"The will of DarkClan goes with you," he murmured.

Goldpaw sighed heavily, lightly pressing his pelt to a still-weak Lightingpelt's side. "Goodbye," he called to the patrol.
Longfur and Blizzardgaze looked at each other before calling, "Goodbye!" and "See you soon!"

[Longstorm]

Silverpaw looked around at the cats she'd be leaving behind, her heart sinking despite the excitement and determination she felt.
I may never see any of these cats again.
This wasn't the first time such a thought had occurred to her; it had when they had fought against the cat-eaters, and against cats of her own Clan.
Now she was leaving, so soon after she'd just made all of these new friends and allies.

Gorseclaw lifted a paw and set it back down lightly, like he was trying to imprint the feel of the ground in DarkClan camp into his pad. He looked at a bristling Sunmist and nodded to her, hoping she would come over for a goodbye. She only spat and looked away.
He felt sad, but he looked at Sorestare. "Alright, then," he mewed to the other senior warrior. The beige tom stood a little taller and called, "May StarClan light your paths," and headed towards the exit to the camp.

Silverpaw looked at her half brother and mentor in shock. StarClan above, they were leaving right this second!
The gray she-cat turned and ran to Goldpaw, burying her nose in his pelt. "Goodbye," she mewed thickly, her eyes squeezed shut.

[NKninja]

Sorestare gave a nod and padded steadily behind, his balance a bit off against the slick moisture of the earth beneath him. "For Redstar," he whispered to himself steadily, his blood starting to grow cold with not just fear, but dispute.

Hollowstripe gave a silent and curt nod to Flowerfoot, unsure if she could actually do this, " Goodbye," she managed to mew to her friend before turning to the patrol, and soon trailing close near the senior warriors. With the responsibility she had to commit to, she had no time or an extra thought to mock Sunmist for the last time, if it could be her death trailing not far from the path she walked.

Lightingpelt leaned against Goldpaw in return, the weight of the situation pressing down on her mind, just as her blindness did.
She felt the impact of Silverpaw leaning against Goldpaw who was leaning against her, and she found a herself purring. But she was also sad, memories of her late brother brought to the front of her mind.
"StarClan be with you, Silverpaw," the yellow she-cat murmured.
StarClan, please, she prayed in her mind, don't let Goldpaw feel the pain of losing a littermate as I have...it would break my heart if his heart breaks.

Bronzepaw looked at Hollowstripe, his deputy and mentor who was the same age as him. His thoughts were conflicted as he looked away, his gaze briefly landing on Redstar.
Are you sending me along simply because my mentor is the deputy, Redstar? I know you don't forget what frightens you quickly...Those two loners in the woods - two loners who were once part of the same force who teamed up with Thornstar, and that she-cat Jade. But you judge too quickly. I will prove you wrong. Bronzepaw nodded to himself.
The brown tom got closer to his brother and mewed a simple, "See you at the Gathering, then turned to follow Sorestare and Gorseclaw out of the camp.

[Runfast]

Goldpaw sighed sadly and rested his chin atop of Silverpaw's neck. "Be safe," he murmured, his concern for his sister greater than his disappointment. He looked at Bronzepaw and nodded briefly in return to his brother's short farewell. He's drifting; I wonder what's happening with him?

Redstar looked out after his warriors, knowing that he should look away at some point. He padded a little closer to the crowd of cats remaining in the camp, finding some comfort with them. As the leader, though, he still stood apart.

[Longstorm]

OOC: Since BP is having password issues...

IC: The newly named Mustardstorm joined the group of cats, casting a final look on the camp before leaving.

Silverpaw slowly stepped back and nodded to Goldpaw. "You too," she mewed softly, and she looked at Lightningpelt. "Look after him, Lightningpelt." The gray she-cat turned away and sprinted after the group, not wanting to draw out the painful goodbye any longer.

Gorseclaw nodded to his sister as she joined him, then set his eyes to the horizon. I will see this view again. StarClan take me, I will.
They left the camp.

[Runfast]

Blizzardgaze watched the group leave through her one good eye.
"...What now?"
Redstar looked at the light gray she-cat. "We get ready."
