CLOSED Thinking about her dream, and finding help Empty CLOSED Thinking about her dream, and finding help

Tala, the eldest she-cat and Distributor of Cityclan, was pondering a dream she'd had the previous night.
"I've heard of strange dreams," she said to herself, as she sometimes did. "I've had strange dreams..." But never one that felt so real, is what she didn't say aloud. She sighed, glancing at the sun. It was almost time for her to go to work. No one could rival her knowledge in herbs nor of poisons, which was why she was still employed, despite her age.

Jace (pronounced JAY-CEE), a young Gatherer, was being somewhat careless. He'd nearly been attacked by a large rat while carrying a nice piece of beef and one of the older Gatherers had to save his sorry hide! He'd apologized, of course, but he still felt distracted! He'd had a strange dream the night before and it was bothering him. When he was younger, he'd been told a story of how some special cats received special dreams, messages, from their ancestors, and if they didn't listen, well... Bad things happened.
Jace shivered, his pale pelt fluffing out. He glanced around and snuck back into the Warehouse. He needed to think.

Tala, padding along and not looking where she was going, nearly collided with the youngster.
"Oh, my," she mewed, "my head was in the rafters there, young one."

Jace shook his head,
"No, it was my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going."

Tala shook her head and mewed firmly,
"Well, then , it would appear the blame is on both of us."
Jace was about to object but the stern she-cat held up her tail. "Now, I think the only way to reconcile is to explain why this almost happened. We were both distracted by..." Tala fell silent, remembering, "Tell no one!" as well as the "Leave. NOW."

Jace looked away, ashamed.
"I," he stammered. "I... I'm sorry. I was told not tell..."

Tala looked at the tom. Was it possible that he'd shared the same dream?
"Young tom," she mewed carefully, "I think we have the same excuses for being distracted. Now, I am going on a trip." Did she really just say that? Oh, Tala, you're not a young, pretty thing anymore! She was old! Yes, she admitted it every day what with her creaking joints and loose teeth, even loose 'marbles'... But here she was. Going on a trip!

Jace looked at the she-cat, shocked, but Tala went on despite herself.
"I am going on a trip," like she was telling herself, "But I need a strong youngster to help me. Now, I won't be leaving today, no. Tomorrow." So soon? "Tomorrow," she was telling herself. "And I think that where I am going might be where you might need to go too..."

Jace gulped, said nothing, and nodded. This was bigger than any cat alive! He hadn't planned on following the dream, but with this old she-cat telling him that she needed help, well, well... It looked like he was going! Tomorrow! His legs trembled and he mewed,
"I'll, I'll help! I'll come with you! And, uh, uh, if there's anyone else who needs to go, then, um,"

"We'll find them," the bold she-cat finished.

Jace nodded, overwhelmed.

Tala, calming her own nerves, mewed,
"Come on, walk me to the Distributors. And take that beef with you, I know some Younglings who'd love to eat some of that."

Jace looked stupid. Beef? Oh! The beef he'd dropped. He spotted it and picked it up, following the old she-cat.

OOC: Forgive me, Meany. 100 Money! for you!

IC: Jazz, concerned for Jace, had followed the tom and had overheard the conversation. They'd had the dream too?!? Jazz looked through one of the holes in the wall to the blue skies. Maybe their ancestors really were watching over them... He'd follow them, Jazz decided. He needed to know where this lead to. Confident in his choice, Jazz went back outside to work, pondering his thoughts.

As everything wonderful would have it, Commons, a young, pretty Council member, overheard everything as well.
She'd had a weird dream last night and now it seemed that others had shared it and intended to follow it!?!? Commons shook her head. This was all so strange! She would have to report this to the Council... after she followed them and reported them! Yes... Tomorrow, she would follow them and put a stop to this.
Worry glimmered in her deep yellow eyes as she padded off. What would happen?

OOC: She's out.
