Waking Up

As the sun began to show over the tops of the Darkclan mountains, Redstar woke with a gasp and a cough. His vision was blurry and his paws like lead when he stood, stumbling back into a sitting position.
Faint memories of a dream flashed past his eyes.
You've lost a life.. Be careful... Only 6... Brave and stupid...
Redstar coughed again, the force of it bringing up dried blood and fur. His pelt cracked with dirt and caked blood.
Finally, his vision cleared. He got a nice look around.
"Starclan," he exclaimed, "I'm at the bottom of the mountain!" He looked up the 'path' he'd come by. A long, sheer drop with slight rocky ledges and thorny bushes. Redstar winced as he coughed again. His main wound had been healed, whatever it had been, but he was still cut up and singed.
The red tom looked around, remembering his opponent from Mudblood. Where has he gone to?
Suddenly, there was a sound like thunder. Redstar cowered as a great bird flew overhead, it's wings at it's top and going in circles.
What IS that? The leader gaped at it as it vanished from sight. He shook himself.
I need to get back.
He slowly limped around the cliff face, looking for a familiar mountain path.

OOC: That was a helicopter. The fire alerted the media, the fire department, and multiple forest conservation groups. Not just here, everywhere.

OOC: sorry this is also my contest entry so it will sound weird!

IC: Small pebbles began to fall from the cliff as Hollowstripe urged to stop her sliding. From where she was, she could see what used to be magnificent, grassy mesa's that used to sway beautifully in the wind, was just now a large ball of flames and puffs of the black smoke carrying after it.
Practically and mostly omni of it was beginning to get diminished by the large, lake like gashes of water that the strange birds carried in their talons. Smoke took the fire's place, resembling to rotten Heliotropes flowing above even where the birds had flown.

Hollowstripe's eyes widened in concern and fear as she saw the small figure of her red leader, " Redstar!" she howled from above.
Her blood became ice cold as she saw the limp body of the cat who had attacked Redstar, Frost. His head was uncomfortably bent and to what she could see, his neck was snapped incredibly, the chipped part of his bone revealed under his tattered and blood splattered pelt.

She noticed she was right where the two had fallen, and followed the leader from above until she found a less steep slope. With caution, she skidded down the slope, not being able to maintain any traction even with her claws unsheathed.

Redstar looked up tiredly - his neck cracked as he craned to see. "...Hollowstripe?" His voice was hoarse as he called up.

Goldpaw, not too far away (as he had stayed behind to search) looked up when he heard the she-cat call their leader's name. He pelted towards the sound of her voice. "Did you find him?" he called.

Hollowstripe's ears flattened to hear his leader's tone.
Traction began to regain to her feet as she slowed down in the growing ferns. " Redstar" she repeated, concern now in her tone, " We had to retreat from the battle, most of the warriors are injured and are recovering on higher ground. Goldpaw reported to me what happened to you and I came here.. Are you okay?" She panted, flicking her stained tail on the ground.

Goldpaw slowed down and he looked down the slight slope Hollowstripe was on, concern in his eyes.

Redstar coughed slightly and smiled wryly. His paws found a path and he began to climb. "Just thirsty," he assured his deputy.
It was true - his throat and lungs felt like they'd been rubbed with claws.
