Flyght Haven Empty Flyght Haven

Post by Guest Fri Oct 28, 2011 4:23 am

Forum Location Distant Lands
RPG Location: The area somewhere between the wolf packs and the horse herds

Description: Flyght Haven is a considerably large territory (Birds like to have BIG houses cat) with a deep forest to the west. As the forest goes east it thins to an open woodland. In the south is a wide grassland with small lakes scattered around. To the north, a lone hill rises over the forests; at night, it's showered in the light of a distant star with the intensity of a mini sun: The Seraph's Eye. (Reading Wolf Star, tee hee)
Or if you mean the description for the board ITSELF, here it is: A safe haven for all things feathered and beaked, all your bird RPs go here!

Name of Territory: Flyght Haven

Residents: Birds of all species can RP here or intrude (hem, hem...) on the cat territories over the mountains.

Flora & Fauna: More to the west of the forest, the deep forest, the trees are mainly oak and sycamores, though other trees can grow among them. These support populations of lizards, wood mice, smaller songbirds and other prey animals. To the south, the land is dominated by dozens of wildflowers and weeds, tall grasses that play host to hundreds of field mice and the occasional hare. The largest lake is an oxbow lake, and is still full of trout and pike. Ducks live near the smaller ponds and provide food to raptors. To the north, there are more pines and other conifers. Directly under the light of the Seraph's Eye, the Elder Tree, flocked by the 'superior' birds in the area (Bird leaders are voted by the avians in the area, or the rank is handed down from generations. Alternatively eager young birds can fight for a chance to snatch power from a current Court member). To the east, more songbirds live, and sometimes monkeys pay a visit. This area is favorited by harpy eagles durng the monkey season due to their voracious appetites and the plentiful monkeys (in real life, harpy eagles can snatch full-grown howler monkeys from their treetop homes).

Terrain: I think I've explained more than enough from the above Very Happy

Weather: During the spring, 'hatching season', weather is mild, with light showers and gentle sun. During summer, 'lazy season' birds can escape to the forests to seek shelter from the sun, which is blazing. Autumn is a well-anticipated season, the 'plenty season'. where the birds can fatten up for winter. The sun is often shielded behind clouds. During winter, the 'bare season' (birds don't hibernate), great storms blow in from the mountains, so it would be smart to seek shelter from the hailstorms in their hollows (nests are abandoned, left at the mercy of the vicious winds) Snow often counteracts the still-hot sun, which shines for a while every day (from a tropical country here, never been in winter more than two weeks before). During the worst of the winter storms, some birds can get frostbite (It's happened; Rook's brother, Darksky, lost the use of a talon and a wing tip to the cold)

Whew, my hand hurts! pale

Now you're making me want to make a new character! But, sadly, I've already reached my character limit... Sad
