CLOSED Waiting For Thornstar
OOC: Takes place after The Secret Meeting.
IC: Longflight, warrior of Darkclan, paced around the camp in the moonlight. He'd been out there for some time, waiting for Thornstar to return with news - he'd said he'd be going somewhere, and it was the night of the Gathering, so Longflight could only assume that that's where THornstar had gone.
But perhaps he had gotten lost? Thornstar hadn't been quite in his right mind as of late. Maybe Abyssclan had gotten him? They were always threatening the only clan that was really isolated from the other clans, like Moonclan had been... Longflight spun around at the sound of pawsteps - but it was only Foxpaw.
"Foxpaw," he mewed sternly to his apprentice.
Foxpaw, an orange tabby with white splotches, froze mid-step.
"Uhh..." he mewed. "Hey, Longflight... Any sign of Thornstar?"
Longflight sighed and shook his head.
"No... But he'll be back soon. Before the moon sets. Now, what are you doing up at this hour?"
Foxpaw sighed heavily.
"I was..." He paused.
"Go on," Longflight mewed.
"I was wondering if maybe, maybe, Mistpaw had decided to come back?" Foxpaw ducked his head - Darkclan didn't follow the rules as harshly as the other clans did, but having feelings for a Healer was still seen as improper, if not odd.
Longflight sighed. Young love.
"I understand, Foxpaw," he mewed quietly. "I still wonder if Skyecho will return..." His voice faded, taken by memories. Skyecho was his mate, and when she had left she had been expecting his kits. It would be their fist litter, and Longflight was terribly worried about her.
Foxpaw nodded.
"I understand too." With that said, he turned and went back towards the Apprentice's Den.
A thought came to Longflight and he turned.
"Foxpaw!"
The apprentice turned around.
"When Thornstar returns I'll... ask him about your warrior ceremony?"
Under normal circumstances, Foxpaw would have been thrilled. But these days, nothing was normal. He shook his head.
"No, Longflight. Don't ask Thornstar. It wouldn't be right." He went into the Apprentice's Den.
