A quick ceremony, a few words and a big storm
Fierie crawled out of her nest, her golden eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep. She had dared not sleep in case... in case that Spirit came again. Storm's spirit. He was angry, he knew what she wanted to do, and now he was haunting her dreams. But even in the waking world, she was afraid that every corner would show those fierce blue eyes, that rippling gray fur, the charred ears and tail.
Outside a real storm was brewing, circling the sky with thick gray clouds. Lightning flashed from afar and the thunder boomed until Fierie flattened her ears and leapt up to her ledge. "Smoke, you can stop licking now. Midnight Pack, gather for a meeting here under the ledge!"

Eager to stop Smoke withdrew his tongue and trotted over towards the ledge. Excitement built up inside him, What was the ceremony going to be about? He could pick up the storm that lay outside, each time Thunder and lightning cracked and rumbled he would flinch and look about. Not very long ago Smoke had run off on his packmates, hoping for adventure, but found himself in side a fox's den. He would have died if he wasn't found. But when he got back he was punished, now he was even more cautious with what he was doing.
Re: A quick ceremony, a few words and a big storm
Jnemmu trotted out of the nursery, worry for her few-day-old pups riddling her mind. She silently assured herself that they were safe inside the cave from harm and danger.
Anamacha, Lasair and Cliste came together, and Anamacha choked back a laugh as he saw the saliva-wet floor. "Remember to let the floor dry next time before you go so someone won't slip!" he called to Smoke.
Fierie watched the wolves settle down. The Midnight Pack was so tiny! It was pitiful enough to bring oily tears to any wolf's eyes to see their pack so weak. It was even more pitiful when Fierie knew that it was her fault. But that was the past, right? Now it was a new start. She would make the pack strong, powerful, and how could playing with fire be dangerous? Power! It was power to work with flames and fire. And there was nothing else Fierie wanted.
"Midnight Pack," she began. "As you all know plenty of things have happened in the past few moon-newings. The two loner wolves who came to our pack, they are still here, and I will get back to them soon. Shadow, that traitorous furfluff who is probably dying out there, or maybe already dead by now. Jnemmu's birth, and the pups we know as Berri and Tufts, though I would have liked to call Blayd and Ghost."
Jnemmu huffed at this.
"Smoke, our oldest pup," Fierie continued. "Riddled in the stars is an ancient code, a code that we wolves will follow loyally to our final days. This code states that pups at a certain age will become wolves, full members of the pack. You have reached that age, Smoke."

Re: A quick ceremony, a few words and a big storm
Smoke glared at Anamacha when he called to him what he did. When he heard his name, Smoke turned his attention to Fierie, he sat up a little straighter, excitement sparkled in his eyes, this was what he had been waiting on, ever since he could see, hear and walk. His dream day is finally here, even though he tried to hide it, his tail couldn't help skimming the ground in a small wag. I- I'm now old enough to leave the nursery!
Re: A quick ceremony, a few words and a big storm
Jnemmu's eyes shone as she remembered the time she had been pronounced old enough to leave the nursery. How excited Smoke must feel! She could almost feel the pup's joy as Fierie went on, "Smoke, you have been a pup for long enough. From this day forward, you will become a full member of the Midnight Pack." she stopped, and a rare wolfish smile crossed her face. "Do you accept this?"

Smoke almost leaped to his paws, he nodded, "I do."

"Then from now on, under the light of the stars above, I name you, Storm, Sigma in the Midnight Pack." Fierie bent to lick the pup's... no, the young wolf's, head.

Smoke bowed his head to receive the lick. Excitement pulsed through him like an ocean wave.
Re: A quick ceremony, a few words and a big storm
"As our ancinet laws decree," Fierie continued after spitting out a mouthful of grey fur. "Snoke shall prove himself a worthy member of the pack by acting as a Flanker for the next hunt!"
"Smoke! Smoke!" the pack chanted.
"Of course, that'll be tomorrow." Fierie added, looking out at the storm putside the cave. She leapt down and called, "Now everyone get some sleep! The hunt starts first thing tomorrow morning!"
"Smoke!" Anamacha called. "I've made you a nest in the sleeping area!"
Jnemmu brimmed with pride. Even though Smoke wasn't her own, she recalled HER first hunt. Back when... When Storm was Alpha. Funny, she thought. That outside there was a storm happening when Fierie was doing Alpha business.

Smoke trotted over towards the sleeping area, his eyes were brighter now with his excitement, he dipped his head to Anamacha. Then quickly raced off towards the area, sniffing the nests until he found one that had no scent. This must be my nest. He spun around for a bit, before curling up, resting his head on his paws to get to sleep.

OOC: And.. cut! That wraps it up until I'm in the mood to make the hunt
IC: "Midnight Pack will prosper..." Fierie murmured in her sleep. "It will, I know it will..."
