Taking Out The Trash (so to speak) Empty Taking Out The Trash (so to speak)

OOC: Nothing big or bad is gonna go down here. Sure, the mood is tense, the sun is nearly fully set, and you're escorting the enemies up and away from your mountains (FYI - if you check the map in my siggie, please note the map is facing East). There's a slight chill, but that's to be expected from your mountain home, yet spring is most certainly here.

IC: Gorseclaw, a former Rebel (it seemed) and now a Darkclan warrior once more, was helping to herd the intruders - enemy forces, perhaps? - beyond the South-East border, since the stinking scent of these cats seemed to trail from that direction.
Gorseclaw was practically choking on the wretched scent. What surprised him was the fact that not all of the scents were exactly new...
He shook his head. How could his Clanmates have not noticed this in the least? He understood that Thornstar had become some sort of allies with this group, but for the rest of the unknowing Clan to not have even caught the smallest whiff? Strange days, these.

Sleetcoat, odd-seeming as it was without Rainfoot at his side, was near the back of the large group. His 'dirty' pelt was stained with blood and mud from the recent battle, and he suspected he'd be having problems with his back legs for a few days - he'd landed at a funny angle earlier. He sighed, wondering if Rainfoot would be ready for action soon.

Blizzardgaze blinked cat tears from her eye, doing her best to keep her only working one on the intruders.
Oh, Foxclaw, she thought. I'll miss you...

Smokepelt and Lightningpelt padded together, even though they were on different sides of the enemy cats.
Smokepelt glanced at his golden-pelted sister, and she glanced back at him.
Why hadn't they noticed these scents before?
As he thought about it, Smokepelt realized that most of the patrols he'd been sent on never passed this way. Perhaps for a reason?

Cloudfeet, limping behind the enemy cats, looked at one of the bedraggled she-cats and asked,
"Where do you come from," he asked her, curious. The she-cat just gave him a blank look and kept walking.

The patrol continued for some time, the Clan cats occasionally snapping at the enemies who sometimes became rowdy, and the enemy cats huddling together most of the time.
But the main question was, where had they come from? They, the Darkclanners, asked now and again, but the enemy cats said nothing.
For weak cowards, they knew how to keep a secret - except one...

A small, very young she-cat turned to Gorseclaw and whispered,
"Past the shadow stones, with floors of pine and skies of gold, we abandoned those dwellings where no-" An older tom screeched, other cats taking up the cry, and, in a single leap, finished the she-cat.
The Clan cats tried to prevent it, but it was too late. The youngster was dead.
Afterwards, the 'Dwellings' made no attempt to attack the Clan cats. In fact, the effort of killing the one she-cat seemed to put many to the point of death by exhaugstion.

On the journey, many cats fell dead.

Nearly 12 sun/moon-shift later, the slow-paddings of the group finally reached the ears of the creatures living beyond the North border.
Gorseclaw looked at the Dwellings and mewed,
"This is the end. Never return to this side of our border, or meet the same fate as your leader..." When the Dwellings made no move to go (standing around like fools), Gorseclaw bared his teeth and yowled,
"RrrrrUN!" The Dwellings shrieked and ran for their lives.
