RECENT-CLOSED Getting Ready For the Gathering

[Longstorm]

Silverkit, almost Silverpaw of the Darkclan Rebellion, was looking around the ice-shell willow they all lived in. All of the adult cats were bustling around, checking the 'borders', checking the food storage, and talking to all of the kits.. liked they needed talking to! Silverkit was 5 moons old, and she didn't need to have a talking to about "keeping safe" or "stay inside" or even "don't argue"!

The gray she-kit stomped her tiny back paw. It wasn't fair! She wanted to go to the Gathering!
"Redfall! Why can't I go?" Redfall was the Deputy of Darkclan, and the leader of the Rebellion.

[Guest]

Skyecho, her foster mother, swept up the gray kit.
"Now, now, Silverkit," she mewed lovingly. "You know you can't leave camp until you're six moons old... And you've a moon left!" She kept smiling at the little kit, eyes sparkling at Redfall.

From the Nursery, Echokit mewed when she realized that her mother was gone.

Skyecho looked up and sighed.

[Runfast]

Redfall smiled at Silverkit and Skyecho. He smiled a bit longer at SKyecho then he should of (he thought) so he crouched down next to Silverkit.
"Your mum is right - you've another month until you can come along. When you're six months old, I promise that you can come with us."

Goldkit, brother to Silverkit, nodded.
"Right!" he mewed. "We can't go yet, Silverkit!"

Redfall sighed - this might cause a scuffle.

Mistpaw, medicine cat apprentice, looked at the two kits. She smiled - she remembered what it was like to play with cats of her own age. Though, now she was an adult cat, and it was strange to play. Mistpaw shook herself, looking up at the ice shell that covered the willow. She should have gotten her medicine cat name by now.

[Longstorm]

SIlverkit huffed.
"Fine," she mewed to her foster mother, running against her a bit. "But I get to go the next Gathering!"

Sunmist, she-cat warrior of the Darkclan Rebellion, laughed.
"But of course, Silverkit!"
Gorseclaw, her brother, said nothing but he smiled.

From the Nursery, Echokit's siblings 'echoed' her call to their mother - these two were Leafkit and Flightkit, the older two.

[Runfast]

Redfall looked at the sky through the eerie ice shell and mewed,
"We should get going."

The cats who were going with him agreed.
"We'll see you all in the morning," he mewed quietly. "May Starclan be with you tonight."
He nodded, pleased with hownit sounded, and leaped out of the hole in the ice.
Mistpaw, being smaller, stood atop one of the great roots and followed.

Sunmist and Gorseclaw watched the deputy leave, then Sunmist mewed to Skyecho that they'd be hunting, and left.
Silverkit watched the big cats leave, wishing she was old enough to leave the Willow.
"It's not fair," she mewed to her foster-mother. "Why can't I be older now!"
