Of does and doubts - Before the final battle
Foxclaw was sharing tongues with Ravenswift. These past days haven't allowed much time for socialising within the clans. In-between sparring and frisking the ground so close to the Moonfall for prey whilst staying clear of any possible encounters with Mudblood cats, there Just. Has. Been. No. Time.
So the two sat back, had a deep and meaningful conversation and began the old fashioned bonding ritual of the cats. It was these special moments that clan mates could find solace in one another, where warriors could bond in silence and feel comfortable with the closeness of their friends.
It was also nice to just not think about panicking for a short while, as selfish as it seemed.

Re: Of does and doubts - Before the final battle
Foxclaw noticed Dewdrop doing her own thing off in one corner of the cave, coming out of a conversation with another DewClan cat (one that had followed her and Daystar - it may have been Grayfall). She seemed troubled.
Foxclaw was concerned for the she-cat, though they saw things differently, and called out to her softly. The deputy looked over at the red tom in muted surprise, but she padded over to him.
"Yes, Foxclaw," she said to him quietly.
The tom nodded to her and mewed, "You seem...troubled."
Dewdrop nodded curtly. "Yes," she said plainly. "Everything that has happened so far has been troubling, to say the least. The Mudbloods - your side of DewClan," she looked at the two toms pointedly. "DarkClan departing - this situation... hmp."

Re: Of does and doubts - Before the final battle
Ravenswift and Foxclaw sat up, the one stretching, his muscles tight and cold from the Moonfall ground.
"It's not so much our side of Dewclan as it is yours," Foxclaw said patiently, "Unfortunately we can do nothing about Darkclan leaving."
Ravenswift huffed "-they'll need us before we need them."
"But that's not all that's troubling you is it, Dewdrop?" Foxclaw said, his amber eyes focusing on her features.

Dewdrop suppressed the urge to slap a b!tch and said, "I'm going to speak with StarClan. I am the deputy of DewClan and it is my duty." She looked towards the entrance of the tunnel somewhere that lead to the inner sanctum of the Moonfall.

"Do it then," Ravenswift turned on her heatedly, "all I've heard all day from you she-cats is "She said this" or "I'm leader cos' Daystar said that!" I can't deal with it! We're about to join Starclan anyway just go and say hi, make sure there's enough room in that silverpelt or whatever."
The tom stood and immediately stormed out of the Moonfall.
"What a shame," Foxclaw sighed, turning to Dewdrop, "you're right though Dewdrop. Only Starclan can settle this dispute."

OOC: ey, Ravenswift, ur a b!tch
IC: Dewdrop stared at Ravenswift for a moment and was overwhelmed by the knowledge that Ravenswift was a whipped little b!tch, and that he shouldn't speak so lightly of the situation because she felt that she should smack him into the nearest wall and make puddy-paste out of his whiny self.
Of course, she instead focused on Foxclaw and nodded curtly to him. Then, she made her way onwards, downwards, into the bowels of the Moonfall, to converse with StarClan.

Re: Of does and doubts - Before the final battle
So Dewdrop returned from her conversation with Lokistar. She was willing to face battle without her nine lives if that meant she would be seen as the true leader of DewClan in every cat's eyes - even those who had betrayed Daystar and broken the warrior code. Especially Maplejay. Dewdrop knew that the wayward she-cat posed a threat to her claim; that belief was reinforced by the dream she had shared with Lokistar.
Dewdrop would see every conflict resolved after defeating the Mudbloods. Everything. Then, and then only could she return DewClan to its home to grow stronger.
Dewdrop returned to her Clanmates within the front of the Moonfall. She spoke to those who did not sleep, drifted past others who seemed only in a dream-like trance. The night seemed long and foreboding. She felt tempted to ask Mistjay if she had seen any omens or signs in the night but chose against it. Dewdrop felt in her bones that the time for prophecy had come and gone. And now, now it was them against the enemy. Them, and no one else.
No matter what, she thought fiercely with sudden emotion she characteristically put away in her head, no matter what, I will survive this.
Time passed.
And then.
In the dark long before dawn.
An ill-timed corpse appeared.

Re: Of does and doubts - Before the final battle
TWAS THE CORPSE OF RAVENSWIFT that did appear in the mouth of the Moonfall that rainy night - the cats of all Clans present then did thusly cry out in fear, anger, and sorrow!
THE CATS OF HIS CLAN did then gather around his and mourn their fallen comrade, noting the marks of brutality that did mark his dark fur, the blood that stained his pelt, the terrible wounds that had killed him.
THE CATS OF THE OTHERS CLANS DID THEN pass condolences to the cats of DewClan, and those who did believe did then pass a prayer onto StarClan so that Ravenswift's spirit would then pass onto the starry fields without hinderance.
IT WAS FELT BY SOME CATS within the Moonfall that a frozen, ghostly visage did brush past their dirty pelts and vanish into the cold, black tunnel that did lead down into the place that cats may go to commune with their ancestors, though none can say if this did truly happen or if they imagined it.
THE CATS OF DEWCLAN, THOUGH STILL separated by their disagreements, did then sit with one another in their shared grief over their fallen Clanmate, and did share tongues with his body.
THIS GHASTLY EVENT DID LITTLE TO bolster the spirits of the cats still living, though some felt the burning rage of the thirst for vengeance build up in their souls, and were thusly united in their want for death.
TO BE CONTINUED.... RIGHT NOW
