Thoughts on Locations Empty Thoughts on Locations

Post by Longstorm Mon May 20, 2013 1:23 am

*rushes in excitedly*

I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT (pictures of) CAVES THAT HAVE STALAGMITES AND STALACTITES IN 'EM. THEY ARE SOOOOO COOL!

So I was thinking about what the Moonfall looks like and how it relates to the Bloodstones.
The Moonfall isn't a mine or anything like that; it's a natural cave. The Bloodstones is a red rock formation, similar to the Red Hills, which is either a bunch of red rock mesas or a proper plateau complete with canyons.

Moonfall ideas:
Spoiler:
You have to creep along almost on your belly to reach the main chamber the ceiling gets so low; you can hear the sounds of running water, though you don't know where it's coming from...there must be a lake or something under the ground with you.

WITH ALL OF THAT IN MIND, I keep trying to look at the Clan territories rationally. And the map bothers me. You know, little things like TawnyClan territory seeming far away from the other territories - or seeming like it is since it's appears to be closer to the DarkClan mountains than any of the other territories, though it shouldn't be. And that the DarkClan mountains don't seem to be as far away as they should be.

And anyways, I'm trying to think about how the Bloodstones and Moonfall ties in. What do the Bloodstones look like exactly? I've sometimes thought of it as an abandoned quarry turned landfill. Right now the Bloodstones doesn't actually have a description. It's mentioned that the leaders leap up onto a large stone, and it was also mentioned that there are trees around, and that there was places to hide and leap from, that the forest ended where the Bloodstones began; little things like that. It would have to be a smaller quarry - more like this:

Spoiler:

Help on choosing ONE would be nice.
But look at the second-to-last picture. Look at it! That would make a nice camp - or a cool little territory. It really would.

Here's a thought on DewClan territory:
Spoiler:

Tumbleface by AbyssClan is a solid, massive old quarry that is slowly filling up with stones and such. It's very very dangerous.
Things like this:
Spoiler:
Also a couple pics of the general sheer walls of the DewClan side of the Red Hills.

Check it out - AbyssClan:
Spoiler:

Or something like it.

Yep, I'm just trying to make our map make sense.

By the way; the series is in the UK. Judging by our map, we're somewhere in America. Yep.

OKAY. SOMEBODY POST BACK SO WE CAN HAVE A CONVERSATION.

A cross between the second and last images were how I felt the Bloodstones were like. You have the moonfall in a nut shell. I did look at the map but never really gave it much thought.

The last picture for the Bloodstones was how I imagined it to be. Smile But that's just what my interpretation of them was.

NAWT DA TABRET! NUUuuuuuuuuU!

I say that Pic number 4 suits my fancy much more than the others.
I always imagined a small canopy of trees around then though.. But then again, I'm thinking about Fourtrees A BUNCH!

BTW, I just bought Crookedstars Promise and got Yellowfang's Secret from the library.. I love Crookedstar's backstory! Although his relationship with Mapleshade keeps going from aggressive to soothing.

Yellowfang's Secret nearly made me fall asleep. I only got to chapter 5 until bluntly putting the book down. I love Yellowfang.. I really do.. It's just that I expected a better storyline and a less wonky talent.

Yeah, I was hoping ShadowClan would be a little more interesting - forget that, ShadowClan was COOL! Did anyone else figure that Brokenstar was the youngest leader in the forest when Rusty came into the forest? Eh, for some reason I always thought that he was old, but I think he's either a little older or younger than Tigerstar (man, do I wish Clan cats had a term for years... it would clear up so MANY things...)

I'm still working on the new map... if anyone's wondering...

Yeah, if the warriors world had a better term for years, then everything would make sense..

Kinda how Brambleclaw was made a warrior WAY before Squirrelflight was even born.. It really reminds me of Twilight in the idea that Jacob fell in love with a baby. God Brambleclaw, you're OLLLLDDDDDDD!!!
