Joy felt her heart flutter as she crammed herself next to Sinewpaw, inadvertly squashing him against the wall.
"I think he's gone."
"Yes, you can move now," Sinewpaw grumbled.
Joy glared, in the end she had done nothing useful. Hey, I tried! She thought sourly.

[Longstorm]

Sassypelt followed Sunclaw out of the crinkly stuff, standing with her as a comrade. "I...The wind carried it," she whispered, awed. Obviously another tool of the Goddess, the Mistress of the Wind. This is all in accordance to her Will! "And it carried the creature..." Sassypelt was wary of it, but she knew it could hurt her. Her Goddess had willed it.

Leafheart stumbled back into the hangar, still gasping. "It took - it took -" he looked around, then realized everyone else knew. Then he saw the plane. "What is..." He was speechless.

Beampaw looked out with the others. She mewed a heartfelt "Thank you," to her aunt for bringing her with her into hiding. The medicine cat apprentice was astonished that the thing had taken Stormstar. "Why did it take Stormstar," she asked anyone who could hear.

"Perhaps it's best we don't know," Sassypelt mewed kindly to her. "There isn't anything it can do to your leader, anyways. He hunts with Sky-Moon, where he will be safe."
Beampaw looked at the strange she-cat and nodded. "He's safe," Beampaw whispered to herself.

Leafheart was circling the strange bird. "What is this, what is this..."

[Loki]

"I know what it is," Sinewpaw said in awe as he came out of his hiding place.

[Guest]

Sunclaw nodded to Sassypelt, acknowledging her ally. "Carried the creature..." She joined Leafheart in walking around the thing. "A bird carrying that creature?"
"Is it even a bird?" Raineyes' voice was filled with wonder.
"What else could it be," meowed Goldenlight.
Raineyes shrugged. "Something...something we haven't seen before? Something..." He saw Beampaw and purred loudly. "Beampaw - Beampaw!"

Sunclaw kept looking at the thing. "It has...wings...Wings...Funny beak," she said when she saw the propeller. "Very strange..." At the sound of the Other-Clan apprentice's voice, Sunclaw bristled. "What," she snapped.

[Meany]

"Me too," said Snowfeather. "I've seen a few before...never this close, but..." She shook her head, amazed. "Wow."

Cloudscar followed Sunclaw. "Then what is it," he meowed warily at the she-cat. He'd heard Blackfire's words, and was now less than trusting.

Whitelight couldn't wrap her mind around it. This weird thing flew, then spat out a creature, which then stole Stormstar...

"It's a big pigeon," Sinewpaw told her knowingly, "But its obviously somehow... merged with a monster somehow. My mother told me about them, big birds that leave sky-cloud-tracks in the sky when its empty. She said so herself. This is a pigeon though, yes... I'm sure of it. A pigeon that is greater than a pigeon. They've trained it of course. I don't know how, but these two-legs have trained it."
Sinewepaw studied the big... pigeon hybrid as if he'd seen one before, "If its a pigeon then it should also be something we could eat..."

[Meany]

Snowfeather flattened her ears. "You can't EAT flying monsters. They're like other monsters! Except with wings. Sheesh."

Blackfire slowly came back into the hangar. "Whoa." He was shaken by the presence of the winged monster. "StarClan save us..."

[Loki]

"Obviously," Sinewpaw rolled his eyes, "WE could not eat this, but a ground monster could."

[Guest]

"Pigeon-monster thing," Sunclaw meowed skeptically to Sinewpaw. "Right..." She looked at the thing again. "Monster fits..." When she said it she glanced over the Other-Clanners. "Indeed." Her gaze returned to the winged monster. "Winged monster..."

"What's a ground monster," mewed Goldenlight.
Sunclaw growled. She'd rather her Clanmates NOT speak to murderers. But she couldn't explain that NOW.

[Longstorm]

Beampaw happily joined her parents. "Father," she purred, touching noses with him.

Leafheart stopped walking. It has wings, it has wings, it has wings, it has wings. "It has wings," the warrior said aloud.
This made Beampaw stop purring. Wings, wings, wings, wings, wings... Her dreams came back to her, the dreams of the strange shiny birds that came to save them all. "It has WINGS, she exclaimed.

Sassypelt looked at the little she-cat.
Beampaw was excited. "It has wings, Sunclaw, mother, father, everyone! It has WINGS!" Leafheart padded towards the she-cat.
"Stormstar spoke about wings before he couldn't," Leafheart said loud enough for all to hear. "It meant something - it still means something."
"I've been dreaming! I've been dreaming - oh Otterpool," she looked around for her mentor, "I've been dreaming!"

[Guest]

"What is it, Beampaw," Sunclaw meowed, interested. A medicine cat apprentice dreaming - Stormstar's last words...Have two of my beloved Clanmates found some connection?
Sunclaw felt a moment of sadness for her passed leader, but brushed it aside for the now.

"Beampaw, what is it?" Raineyes and Goldenlight watched and listened closely.

[Loki]

Sinewpaw frowned, he'd never seen one. Now he had to get this word for word...
"They run really fast on stone tracks. They don't come off the stone tracks but they won't stop if you stand in front of them. But they carry two legs in their bellies..."
Was that right? Sinewpaw shrugged to himself, "My... Lokistar says that they are better left alone, we shouldn't go near them."

"Of course it has wings," Joy said grumpily and then thought about how Sinewpaw said that they could train these things. "Sinewkit?" She mewed purposefully.
"-paw," The apprentice turned grudgingly from Goldenlight.
"Goes well," Joy shrugged, "How do the two-legs train them?"
"I dunno."
Well, that helped.
OOC: Can't wait till he finds out that she's dead, mamma's boy is going to get a shock

[Runfast]

Otterpool came out of hiding to join her apprentice. "A dream from Sky-Moon, Beampaw." She said it with certainty, not as a question.

Raypaw and Talltree came out of hiding, listening, both wary of the strange bird.

Mosspaw had hidden after all the commotion, and was now slowly creeping out of hiding. She saw Joy and Sinewpaw arguing about training pigeon-monsters, but decided she wanted to hear what the medicine cat apprentice was going to say instead...

[Meany]

Snowfeather was confused. "Hang on," she meowed loudly. "Who are you again?" Those little MoonClanners were like frogs - hoppy, everywhere, impossible to keep track of.
Blackfire shot a glare at Snowfeather, she who just rolled her eyes. She knew the DarkClan tom didn't remember either.

Whitelight hissed irritably at the sleek-coated DewClanner.

Cloudscar was listening closely. "From Sky-Moon?" He drew closer to the tiny she-cat. "What is it?"

[Longstorm]

Beampaw looked at Snowfeather and held up her delicate head defiantly. "I'm Beampaw, medicine cat apprentice, THAT'S who." She nodded briskly. "And I've had a dream."
Leafheart was standing with her now (OOC: F#cking wonder twins, these two), looking at the winged monster in a completely new light.
"I know what we're supposed to do," cried out the little apprentice. "Listen! Our ancestors told me what we're supposed to do, I just wasn't paying well enough attention! I dreamed -"
"Hang on," Leafheart scooped her onto his back. Beampaw situated herself, looking at all of the cats.
"I dreamed," she spoke loudly. "That our ancestors came to us in on a great, silvery bird, and carried us all home." She looked at the winged monster. "This must be - this IS the bird in my dream!"
Leafheart probably wouldn't have agreed if he hadn't heard Stormstar's last words. "Wings, Stormstar said," Leafheart mewed. "Wings. This winged monster must be it."

Sassypelt could only agree. It is the Will of my Goddess, She Who Takes All Forms, Mistress of the Wind.

[Loki]

"I told you," Sinewpaw told Joy slyly, "it's a giant pigeon."
Joy decided to turn her back on the tom and join the crowd to hear what they have to say.
"You mean... ride it?" She looked at the lifeless creature, "but how?"

[Meany]

Snowfeather looked at Beampaw like she was stupid. And Leafheart. They LOOKED stupid, what with the apprentice standing on the warrior's back like that, preaching the good word or whatever.
"That's RIDICULOUS," she spat. "Ride in a flying MONSTER? Listen," she looked at the MoonClanners, "I know you all grew up away from two-leg places, so I'll fill you in; Monsters, okay, monsters KILL cats. To think that you could ride in-" she broke off, laughing incredulously.

Blackfire didn't say anything - he agreed with Snowfeather, but...What else is there, he thought. I don't know...Crazy, sure...Riding in a monster probably isn't what we were supposed to do...But then, Blackfire remembered what Snowfeather had said, Snowfeather said that nothing has gone as it should have...

Cloudscar turned and spat at Snowfeather, shocking the DewClanner. "Shut UP. This has nothing to do with you or your Clans. This is MOONCLAN. A dream from SKY-MOON, our ancestors, not yours." He turned back to Beampaw and Leafheart. "How will we do this," he echoes Joy.

Whitelight drew closer to Beampaw. She looked up at the 'winged monster,' in awe of its size and build. "A single eagle can carry two cats...why couldn't a giant eagle carry us all?" She was thinking out loud. "We could get in the same way the creature got out, I think," she meowed loud enough for all to hear.

Snowfeather rolled her eyes. "Eagles KILL cats too," she hissed, infuriated at being spat AND hissed at.

The two MoonClanners started to ignore her.

This angered Snowfeather even more. "Hey, I'm talking to you-" she strode forward, but Blackfire stopped her.
"No," he said sternly and quietly. Snowfeather snarled at him, flattening her ears.
"WE'RE supposed to lead them BACK," she snapped in an almost whisper, "NOT let them get killed because of some apprentice's DREAM."
"I know," hissed Blackfire. "But THINK. Two-legs don't die when they ride in monster's bellies - who's to say we would?"
Snowfeather growled. "I don't know about you, but I'd LIKE to keep my Clan alive, whatever it is that we're supposed to -" she stopped. "We? WE?" She looked at him like he was crazy. "You want US to ride in that THING?"
The black tom nodded. Then shrugged. Then nodded/shook his head. "I-ye-I don't know. But we don't have many other options, do we?"
"There are PLENTY," she hissed, "You're just too wrapped up in disappointment to see them." She got nose-to-nose with him. "I don't care what you do - I will NEVER get in that monster."
"Snowfeather -" Snowfeather growled low in her throat at the DarkClan tom, spun around, and stalked away.
Blackfire hissed in frustration, clawing the ground. No one else had really heard the exchange.

"We can't go without Spottedfern," meowed Cloudscar suddenly. "If we're going to go back to MoonClan territory, then we can't leave her here."
Whitelight looked at the concerned brother. "We won't," she responded. "Everyone else has come back- as will she."
Cloudscar nodded curtly.

OOC: waiting, waiting, waiting...

"So how do we get it to eat us?" Joy questioned the apprentice, the idea didn't seem too bad to her, "I mean... If we could get it to take us to the low-lands. This all makes sense now, we've been led here."

"Its a pigeon, not an eagle," grumbled Sinewpaw because he'd never seen what an eagle looked like.

[Longstorm]

Leafheart was hearing everyone's words - well, maybe not the word "lowlands." He didn't know what it meant, so he ignored it (just another strange Other-Clan word, anyways). "Like Whitelight said," he called. "The creature came out...So that means we should be able to get in."
Beampaw was feeling quite overwhelmed. Suddenly, everyone was listening to her like she was some wise old she-cat, hanging on her very words. Sky-Moon, please don't let me be wrong! The she-cat shifted her paws - she was still on Leafheart's coarse back. Teehee. I'm on Leafheart's back.
Beampaw was astonished at her Clanmate's readiness to claw the doubting Other-Clan's words from the air as they appeared, defending her word. This is...wow...


Sassypelt,ever eager to perform the will of her Goddess, strode towards the flying monster. She stopped before the strange portal the two-leg had come out of and sat, eyes wide and tail twitching. Sassypelt crouched, still staring at the portal, wriggled her haunches and - TUNK. Sassypelt hit the side of the winged monster, briefly scrabbling unsheathed claws against the strange, cool, and rough-but-slick surface. After a moment, she was back on the ground, tail lashing in frustration.
"Hmmm..." She looked back at Leafheart. "Well...can't have been that easy," she took on a suddenly good-hurmored tone.
Leafheart was pleasantly surprised at the strange she-cat's eagerness to help and her optimism. He smiled back to her at her words. "Well, maybe -" He stopped when Beampaw whispered to him that she wanted to get down. "Oh, of course." He knelt a bit and the tiny apprentice hopped off. Leafheart looked back at Sassypelt. "There must be a trick to it...Though I wouldn't know what."
Sassypelt nodded and stared at the winged monster again. "Maybe on top...." She set her sights on the wing, and got ready to leap.

[Guest]

Sunclaw, too, had hissed at the white Other-Clanner she-cat.
Now, though, she was looking at the winged monster in a whole new light.
Protecting us - keeping us safe - taking us home? "Brilliant," meowed Sunclaw. "Beampaw, you're brilliant."

Raineyes and Goldlight were bursting with pride for their daughter. "She's so grown up," Goldlight buried her head in the fur of Raineyes' neck.
"I know," he meowed thickly. "We're going home."

Sunclaw followed Sassypelt. "Yes, trying the wings to get closer to the body would be smart. Well done, Sassypelt," she praised her friend. Sunclaw looked at the strange contraption and wondered how to get in.

[Loki]

"Perhaps the two-leg could open it for us?" Joy wondered aloud, though fell silent. no, stupid. We'd be noticed.
Instead she offered, "Maybe there is a command or something that must be done to get it to open."
Yes, an imperative of a sort.

[Longstorm]

Sassypelt paused in her preparations to leap and looked at the silvery she-cat. "Hmm..." She looked back at the winged monster. "OPEN," she yowled. Then waited. Nothing. The tangle-furred she-cat sighed, then prepared to leap. Steady...She leaped!
Sassypelt scrambled for a hold on the lower wing, somehow hooked a claw in a crevice, and was up!
"It's even stranger from up here," she exclaimed.
Leafheart looked up at the she-cat then at the monster thing again. He twisted his face in thought.

[Loki]

"Maybe we need to bring it something?" Joy wondered aloud again, "an offering? What do giant mettle birds eat anyway?"

[Runfast]

Talltree didn't know what the word 'metal' meant, but he didn't like the sound of Joy's voice at the moment so he didn't really care. "This is a gift from Sky-Moon," he spat at the silver she-cat. "It doesn't need an offering!" He padded around the monster-bird and looked up at Sassypelt. "What do you see," he called to her.

Barkfur, not about to be outdone, followed in Sassypelt's pawsteps and began to measure the jump from the ground to the strange wing. She sighed and shook her head. She couldn't do it alone. "Talltree," she called. "Could you give me an eagle boost?"
Talltree looked at the young warrior and nodded briskly. He wanted to get things done, so his usually cynical tongue was being held. He padded over to the she-cat and meowed, "How much distance?"
"Three," she replied simply, flicking her tail at an angle at the wing. The tall-for-his-Clan tom nodded and padded towards the wing and stood facing at the same angle. He crouched in a peculiar way, his neck stretched out and his rear not quite touching the ground. It was rather comical looking.
Barkfur looked between the tom and the wing, murmuring under her breath for a moment. Then, she walked a short distance behind Talltree, turned, and ran at the tom's back. It looked as though the she-cat was going to collide with the larger cat, but instead she bounded onto his back. As her paws made contact with his back, Talltree bucked up and, using him as a springboard, Barkfur seemed to soar onto the wing. She came to a scrabbling halt atop the wing, near Sassypelt.

Otterpool nodded approvingly. "Well spotted!"

"Nice one, Talltree," Raypaw called to her mentor proudly.

This was one of MoonClan's special moves called 'Eagle's Flight.' As demonstrated, a smaller cat would call on a larger cat to act as a ramp. It was used for catching airborne creatures, but this move could also be used in battle, in which case both cats could be moving at top speeds, and the cat acting as the ramp would stop suddenly mere moments before 'lift-off' so not a single precious moment in battle would be wasted.
MoonClan. Ta-da.

Barkfur agreed with Sassypelt. It WAS weirder from the top! "There's weird ice up here," she called, seeing the windows on the plane but not knowing what they were. "Could it melt?"

OOC: I just discovered that Mosspaw and Cold aren't here...
LS! Could a window be open, or could they break the glasss?

Joy, disgusted at being snapped at, shouldered past Talltree and lowered her large body. [I'll show that dirty, useless, scummy, moon preacher![/i]
With a wry shake of her hackles and winding of all the spring muscles she leaped.
The jump was hopeless for grace and she scrabbled up, placing minuscule scuffs on the paintwork of this mighty, sentinel creature.

The silver, she-cat struggled for a moment and she inhaled in worry before sobering her structure, huffing and grinning down at the tom scornfully.
She muttered idly to herself, "Abbysclan cats don't need to rely on others, how convenient is that?"
Then she paused to look around herself.... did I speak too soon?
