CLOSED Hiding Out

[Longstorm]

Leafheart, warrior of Moonclan, alongside Beampaw, medicine cat apprentice of Moonclan, were walking along a the strange paths in the strange dwelling place. It was dark out so it seemed the strange creatures who inhabited the place were sleeping, or at least slower and sluggish.
"Stay close," the warrior whispered to the apprentice as many loud, strange noises came from a nearby den-place thing.
"No problem," she whispered back, eyes wide in fear.
Leafheart nodded once but didn't look at the she-cat. He was too busy watching and listening to their surroundings. "Let's go in there," he gestured to what looked like a strange hollowed out log - it made strange sounds when they walked inside of it, though.
"Sky-Moon above," the warrior murmured, "what is this place?"
Beampaw only shrugged as she sat down with a sigh. She was glad to be off of her paws.

[Meany]

Outside, there was a strange, loud noise. The moment it came and the way it sounded could only be summed in a single word; Threatening.
A dark shadow stumbled past the two-leg trashcan Beampaw and Leafheart were inside of.

[Longstorm]

Leafheart turned and bared his teeth and unsheathed his claws, fur bristling. "Stay back," he hissed to Beampaw. The small she-cat stayed very still.
The warrior slowly padded to the front of the strange den and stopped, waiting.

[Meany]

The she-cat's normally golden fur was matted with mud and things so she was certain she looked very strange indeed. But Whitelight was just happy to be alive. She'd been traveling for some time, a bit lost in the strange place.
Whitelight stopped when she heard a noise from the weird thing she'd just passed. She slowly turned around and crept towards it.

[Longstorm]

Leafheart leaped out at the muddy shaped - and froze. "WHITELIGHT! Skymoon above, I almost killed you!"

[Meany]

The muddied she-cat bristled in return. "Well, it's a good thing you didn't!" She sighed rapidly, scenting the air.
"My niece is with you? Beampaw?"

[Longstorm]

Beampaw, upon hearing her aunt's voice, perked up and ran out. "Whitelight," she sobbed, shoving her nose into her kin's fur, "I was afraid you had died!"
Leafheart nodded briefly to the older warrior, looking around, making sure nothing was sneaking up on them. "We should go back inside," he mewed uncomfortably.

[Meany]

Whitelight set her chin on her niece's head, pulling back to lick her ears. "It's alright," she murmured soothingly. "Let's follow Leafheart." She lead her niece in, and as she did she mewed, "If three of us made it, then I'll bet the whole clan made it."
She hoped.

[Longstorm]

Beampaw stiffened along with Leafheart.
As they settled in, Leafheart spoke. "We... know, not all of us made it... Windblow died. Beampaw and I saw it ourselves."
Beampaw buried her face in her aunt's side. "It was all my fault," she hiccuped.
Leafheart flattened his ears. "Don't say that," he hissed. He calmed himself. "Windblow knew what he was doing, you didn't make him do anything."
Beampaw said nothing.
The young warrior cast the apprentice's kin a lost look. He knew it wasn't the young she-cat's fault, it really wasn't. So why couldn't she see that?

[Meany]

Whitelight signalled for the tom to be quiet.
"Beampaw. I know you feel responsible now. Like it was your own paws that pushed that warrior into the claws of the ice. But this feeling will fade; it will only last for as long as you let it. You know why? Some day you'll see, you'll know that Windface didn't regret his actions. He died a warrior. He's found peace with Skymoon."
She lay down, beckoning for her niece to sleep.

[Longstorm]

Beampaw sighed heavily and lay down next to her aunt, closing her eyes and hoping for sleep.

Leafheart nodded to the older warrior and stayed where he was, just looking out at the unknown, listening for enemies.

The next morning...

Leafheart blinked his eyes as the sun was beginning to shine weakly into his eyes. He looked back at the two she-cats and called softly, "Hey...we should get moving."

[Meany]

Whitelight slowly opened her eyes and looked at the tom. She nodded briefly and quietly stood, nudging Beampaw awake. "We're leaving," she murmured.

[Longstorm]

Beampaw yawned and blinked at her aunt. She took a moment to remember where they were and why, then stood.
"Will we get something to eat on the way?"
Leafheart nodded, almost purring if he hadn't been so nervous. "Sure. Let's go..."

[Meany]

Whitelight lead the way and the others followed. And thus, they made their way into a world that was unknown to them.
