Training - Preparing for Battle

[Longstorm]

Gorseclaw, Sunmist, Silverpaw, Longfur, Blizzardgaze and Limitpaw were sparring.
Gorseclaw was batting at Limitpaw, instructing him all the while, Blizzardgaze was with Sunmist, using her blind side as an advantage, and Silverpaw and Longfur were wrestling in the more dusty section of the clearing.

"Come on, Limitpaw," the beige warrior, Gorseclaw, mewed to the apprentice, "give it more thrust! I may be a bit taller than you - use your speed, you're a lighter cat!" He knocked the apprentice to the side. "Don't look where you plan to leap," he instructed, "it gives you away."

Silverpaw broke away from Longfur - the elder most certainly fought like a seasoned warrior still - and assessed his movement, trying to judge what he would do next.

Sunmist reared into the air, trying to find some way to overcome Blizzardgaze's weaving fighting moves, a battle tactic for half-blind cats passed down through the ages. As old as the Clans of Old.
The ginger flecked she-cat hissed in frustration and came down, lashing out at the pale she-cat's face with sheathed paws.

Longfur's eyes narrowed, watching the apprentice's gray paws. Wait... wait...
The tom suddenly pounced.

Blizzardgaze grinned at Sunmist's frustration. She jerked back as the ginger spotted she-cat lashed at her face, dropping and rolling to the side, back up in a flash and ready to batter the she-cat's flank.

[Meany]

Limitpaw waved his crooked tail in frustration as he was flipped over yet again by the bigger warrior, yellow fur coated in dust. Limitpaw rolled over into a low crouch, tail still lashing. He suddenly noticed that Gorseclaw seemed to be favoring his front right leg.
May as well.
He darted forward and lashed out at the warrior's right leg, hoping to hook it.

[Longstorm]

Gorseclaw's eyes widened in surprise when the tom hooked the leg he'd been favoring. The warrior fell with a thump, and he lay still for a moment.
Then he began to laugh. "Good, good, good!" He purred as he got back on his paws. "Very observant, Limitpaw! Well done. But we're not finished here - come on, attack me!"

Sunmist tried to jerk away, but Blizzardgaze's sheathed paws connected with her flank quite well. If this was a real fight, Sunmist would be near dead.
"I concede," she spat almost angrily. She licked her chest fur as she stepped away, getting her breath back. "Go again?"

Silverpaw, not thinking, dropped and slithered forward, lashing up at the elder's stomach.

[Runfast]

Limitpaw just leaped forward, bringing his sheathed paws down towards the warrior's face.

Longfur let out a cry of surprise as he felt the she-cat's paws on his stomach. He allowed himself to fall ungracefully. He lay there a moment, thinking of the only other place he'd heard of that move. "Great," he mewed as he stood. "As good as Scourge, I'll bet. How'd you learn to do that?"

Blizzardgaze flicked her tail. "Let's take a breather, first."

[Longstorm]

Gorseclaw let out a half pleased, half surprised cry as the apprentice's sheathed paws batted his closed eyes.
"I'd be blind if you're claws were out," he mewed, impressed. "Let's take a break. You've done well."

Sunmist nodded, her tail lashing irritably. She hated losing. The she-cat noticed her brother looking at her with a strange look and made a face that said, "What?"
The beige tom looked away, ears twitching as he looked back to the apprentice.

Silverpaw's blood froze. Scourge? "I-I just... did it. I didn't think!" She had begun to defend herself.
