Shimmerpelt began to wander across the huge landscape in front of her. She was amazed by thought of being close to each clan yet not actually on their terriotry. The very thought made her shudder with excitment. She began to trot around looking at everything and making a mental note on everything she saw and heard.

Fern ad been wandering through the forest, on her way out of Tawnyclan territory. She saw Shimmerpelt walking away, and she padded over to her. "Hello Shimmerpelt."

Shimmerpelt turned and looked at Fern.

"Oh hey Fern! I'm glad to see that you did not perish in the horrible fire. What brings you here?" mewed Shimmerpelt, as she went over to a rock and sat up on it.

"I was heading to dewclan." Fern mewed, looking around. "Where's Hawkfeather?"

"He has went to go fight his brother Talon. He didn't want me to come so he ran off as if he was mouse-brained or something. "mewed Shimmerpelt as she rolled her eyes.

"Because he loved you." Fern mewed gently. "I know him well."

"Yeah I know...Sometimes it irks me when he gets all protective like that though." mewed Shimmerpelt, as she scanned her surroundings.

"If you want to be with him so much, then go find him. He found you after the fires; I heard him miles away." Fen mewed. "He loves you. He misses you, but thinks he made the right choice. Go. Go prove him wrong."

"I don't know where he has gone though. I tried to follow his scent but it is completely covered by the ash and soot. I don't even know where he is heading." mewed Shimmerpelt.

"Back to his roots, I would guess. Over the mountains. But there is a small twoleg population there." Fern said. "He would have went by there, if not stayed there to rest."

"Over the mountains huh? Well I guess I better go after him before he gets himself into trouble." mewed Shimmerpelt, as she hopped off the rock and began to pad towards the moutains.

"Good luck, Shimmerpelt. May Starclan guide your paws, your life, and your destiny." Fern mewed, bowing her head.
