Daystar's leaving

The early morning sun hadn't rosen yet, leaving the camp clearing full of gloom and grey.The only sound was the loud scuttling of leaves as Daystar walked through.His once golden pelt was matted with dirt and muck.He grimaced as a wind flew against his face.Here he was, leaving again.He hoped that Dewdrop would be able to sustain this clan.But the fact that he was leaving, again smacked him in the face like a cruel joke. I wonder if I'll be alive to see this place again. he thought coldly.He was on a suicide mission.A mission he assigned himself.Could he put a dent in their numbers? Just enough to give Dewclan a fighting chance.He doubted it.Mudbloodclan was using them.He knew it all along.He was going to be easily welcomed.And then he would strike.Take out as many as possible.Give the clans a chance.But they weren't going to get along.He knew it.But no time to think.Only time to do.Only time to do.AS he saw the last of the Dewclan camp,he whispered.Just the tiniest whisper, of a langauge he hadn't spoken in many moons.

Maplejay had seen her leader leave and jumped out to catch up," Daystar!?"

Daystar froze.He had not expected some one to realize before it was too late."Maplejay,what are you doing this early?I thought dawn patrols were at least a good 2 hours from now."

"I couldn't sleep," She mewed nervously, "I was listening to the Mudbloodclan toms outside, Daystar, oh its terrible!"

"I know, Maplejay.But I need you and the rest of the clan to stay strong as long as you can.I will be leaving.These cats will escort me to their 'lord', where I'll find out what's happening."As he said that, two Mud cats had strolled into earshot."I need to see the Lord," he mewed quite calmly.

[Loki]

"I'm sorry," Mewed general Ted warily, "He's very busy, I'm afraid only See're Life, Winter and he himself, knows where he is, in these circumstances..." He mewed icly, "It'd seem we have lose connections."

Maplejay eyed General Ted warily, pity swelling from the stories of which she'd heard about these strange cats. Their ambitions, she, had just realized.

"Then take me to the battle.I want to watch with my own eyes,"Daystar suggested.He looked at general Ted for a long moment.I have an idea....

[Loki]

"Take you into battle?" He mewed, eyeing Daystar up.
"And me!" mewed Maplejay defiantly.
Ted sighed, "I'v been given no orders for this, I would-" he said as Maplejay was about to protest, "But I am following orders to 'Keep Dewclan safe'."
Maplejay meowed curiously," I scented fire earlier, was that_"
"Yes," grunted Ted.
"Its for the sake of living," He said remorsefully, "Its how we were born."

Daystar was surprised by Maplejay.She had no idea what she was going into!"For your information,Ted, I am very used to the art of kill."he mewed,"I will be able to protect myself as easily as any other Mudblood cat."

[Loki]

"You can see in the morning when it is over."
Ted turned and disappeared swiftly into the undergrowth, leaving the two alone.
"What a strange tom..." mewed Maplejay.

"Maplejay,"Daystar mewed urgently,"I need you to make a distraction to distract the Mud cats.ALL of them.YOu will need all of their attention.But stay away from trouble if you see it.These cats will not hesitate to kill you.So whatever you do, make sure it is not enough for them to want you dead.I made a mistake like that some time ago."

Maplejay looked surprised, "What... why Daystar?"

"Listen, I have to get to these cat's camp.There I'll take out their lord and any others who are there before they kill me, and my other 5 lives."he mewed.He said all of this too calmly, as if this was planned for a very long time.

[Rainpelt]

Skysoar padded out of her den, and stretched. She froze when she heard some noises. Who will be up so early? Silently, in the early morning's shadows, went to investigate.

Daystar heard the rustling leaves and knew the scent."Skysoar,if you stopped snooping you could help us."he mewed.He wasn't stupid.He knew to memorize scents and sounds.Plus, they were all going to need as much help as they can get.

SKysoar came out cautiously, then relaxed when she saw her leader. "Yes? What can I help with?"

From afar, a low snoring could be heard as Ravenswift was restlessly attacking in his sleep. Swiping with his paws (sheathed) and rolling slowly. He was well thinking of the mudblood cats attacking him.

"I need you two to make a distraction so I can get out of here.But don't tell the rest of the clan where I am.I'm not coming back."Daystar mewed," Maplejay, answer any questions she has."

Skysoar nodded absent-mindedly, then the full meaning hit her, hard. She gasped, "You're not coming back!? What do you mean? Maplejay, don't tell me that Daystar..." Her eyes went wide. "Are you sure, Daystar? Why? Why are you leaving us? WE NEED YOU!!"

"I have to give the clans a chance,"Daystar replied cooly,"Four hundred, Skysoar.They will kill us all.I made an alliance wih Mud only so I could win their trust.Then I will do the duty to give us a chance to win."But he stopped, because he didn't have to explain anymore.Death was his escape.His way out of living a nightmare in reality,and having to rejoice in dreams each night of his own death over and over.He imagined his family, coming out to greet him, in the starry lights of Starclan.The clans' survival would end in his death."The clan will do good without me anyway."

Skysoar seemed frozen with shock, and started to say something, but words wouldn't come. She finally managed to blurt out, "Y-you are sure of this? You have thought of this all through?" Her eyes glazed, and would have fainted if a thought hadn't rung off. "Then your deputy will be our....leader soon? DewClan will miss you, Daystar..." and trailed off.
