Mistpaw, medicine cat apprentice of DewClan, was standing outside of the Moonfall. She was here to receive her name as full medicine cat. Afterwards she would return to DewClan as their sole medicine cat.
No pressure. Not as though there's a dire fate looming over all of the territories and I conspired with a warrior to mutilate the body of my mentor to frame those who would deal our gruesome fate.
Oh wait.
With the grey she-cat was Brownhowl, the young warrior who had been instructed to escort her safely to the Moonfall then back home. Mistpaw now turned to Brownhowl and mewed,
"You may wait here. I'll return soon." She nodded to the warrior, not certain if she wouldn't experience some strong burst of emotion if she said anything more.
The sun had long since set and the practically full moon was rising over the mountains and illuminating the territories. Regardless, the walk down to the Moonfall was as pitch dark as it had ever been.

Brownhowl mewed a short, uncertain 'goodbye,' and looked around. What was he going to do now?
The brown tom sighed. He may as well attempt to hunt...

[Runfast]

A time later, Mistjay burst out from the Moonfall, her face, chest, and front legs covered in deep cuts and scratches. Her green eyes were crazed as she hissed, "We need to get out of here."
She pelted off towards DewClan territory, not caring if Brownhowl followed or not.

[Meany]

Brownhowl, with a mouse in his jaws, watched Mistjay leave.
He dropped the mouse and called, "Hey! Wait!" Forgetting about the plump bit of prey, he ran after the she-cat, wondering what in StarClan's name could have frightened her so.
