Battle of Darkclan

[Longstorm]

OOC: Remember, folks: if you want to kill someone else's cat, you have to ask them, first.
When trading blows, you throw the punch and the other person has to decide if they take it - but if you go all super-cat on me (without good reason), your cat will die via random lightning strike!

IC: Greenie spun around and spotted the ginger and white she-cat.
He snarled/grinned and hissed,
"And just who are you?"

Gorseclaw, joining his sister with everyone else, glared at the stranger.
"The question comes back to you, rogue."

Thornstar spotted the Rebellion and yowled,
"TRAITORS! TRAITORS TO YOUR OWN CAUSE!" He looked wildly at his warriors and his 'allies' and hissed, "Kill them!"

Silverpaw, off hiding with her brothers, gulped.
This was her father. The pale brown she-cat was her older sister. They were both insane.
Silverpaw shivered, digging her claws into the ground. Would she someday be like that?

[Meany]

OOC: And all we Darkclanners (excluding the Rebellion) are extremely loyal to Thornstar... here we are, then.

IC: Foamingwater looked at Thornstar, and Robinsong yowled,
"To me, Darkclan!"

Lightningpelt and Smokepelt, forgetting the strangers for now, stood with Robinsong, there teeth bared.
Smokepelt ordered,
"Stand with me, Flowerpaw," since she was his apprentice.

Lightningpelt told her own apprentice,
"Hollowpaw, stay near me!"

OOC: 'Sup, Stare. Looks like I'm your mentor.

IC: Blackear rolled his eyes and sauntered over to Robinsong, hissing,
"We kill them all, yes?"

Robinsong smiled and hissed,
"Battle-stances!"

[Runfast]

Goldpaw, next to his sister, pressed up against her as she shivered, the same thoughts running through his mind.
Would the same madness one day overcome himself and his siblings?

Redstar calmly pushed to the front of the group, his amber eyes shining in the fading sunlight.
He didn't have to look back to check on his warriors, he knew they stood with him.
His upper lip curled, his split lip pulling back to expose his sharp teeth.

Smile and White glared at the Rebellion, then went off into the mass of bushes that lined the camp, sneaking around the edge towards the rebels.

Longflight locked gazes with Skyecho, his mate - no, he told himself. She's a traitor. And traitors need to be removed...

Foxclaw fell into a battle stance, but he searched the rebels for Blackpaw, his brother.
He wasn't with them. Where was he?

Blizzardgaze looked at the rebels and growled. They needed to go, and to stop bothering the Clan!

[Guest]

Flowerpaw was confused. Who was the enemy here? And who could she trust? The thoughts whirled around her mind like an angry tornado.

[Guest]

Frostshine looked at his old friends, unsheathing his claws when he spotted the strangers - the ones that didn't look too nice. He bared his teeth, thinking of the battle that was seconds away.

OOC: We should get on with it...

IC: Jaycall yowled to his sister,
"Robinsong, this is madness! We don't need to fight!"

[Meany]

Robinsong laughed, the tension heavy in the air (OOC: like bloody pudding, it is...).
"You betrayed us. Now you must die."

Blackear and Foamingwater grinned maliciously.

[Runfast]

Redstar mewed softly to Jaycall,
"Focus, Jaycall. There's no reasoning with them. We just have to-"

"RAAAARH!" Smile and White leapt out of the bushes, landing atop of Jaycall and Skyecho, clawing at their throats.

Redstar spun around, leaping and crashing into Smile, knocking her off of Jaycall.

Blizzardgaze crossed the short distance between the two groups, colliding with Frostshine, biting his shoulder.

[Longstorm]

Sunmist let loose a fearsome battle cry and met Greenie, who was charging, head-on.
While he attempted to claw her ears, she slithered beneath him and clawed his stomach, making him jump back, yowling in pain.

Jade joined White, biting at Skyecho's throat while clawing her ears.

Thornstar hissed to the others,
"Don't just stand there- GET THEM!!!"

Gorseclaw, copying his sister's poor grammar, hissed,
"Not if I get you first," and launched himself at the old, gray leader.

[Meany]

Robinsong smiled at her father then collided with Gorseclaw in mid-air, aiming to bite his face.

Blackear raced forward, grabbing onto Redstar with his claws.

Foamingwater closed his eyes, focusing himself. He called upon the power of the mountains then his eyes snapped open. He focused on Redstar and followed Blackear.

Lightningpelt and Smokepelt looked at each other then followed, attacking Sunmist and Gorseclaw.

[Longstorm]

Sunmist spun around, turning away from Greenie and lashed her claws out at the Smokepelt.

Gorseclaw yowled in pain as the smelly she-cat bit his cheek. He clawed at her, but sagged as Lightningpelt landed on his back. He cried out,
"Help!"

Thornstar let out a strange, keening snarl, watching the turmoil happily.

Jade watched everyone fight and purred to Thornstar,
"It's... wonderful."

Thornstar, either unable to hear her or not caring, clawed the ground, hissing blindly ahead.

Jade slowly padded around the leader and looked into his eyes - they were glazed over while the Clan cat was trapped in some hallucination.
Suddenly, an idea came to the malicious she-cat. If she killed him, she could take over the whole Clan!
She unsheathed her claws and paused, glancing around.

[Guest]

OOC: Buh-bye, Skyecho...

IC: Skyecho cried out in fear and pain as the rogue cats clung to her with their claws and fangs, digging deep into her shoulders and throat. Before, she'd had a sporting chance, but now, with so many attacking her at once, well...
Her wide eyes looked at Redstar, the tom she'd come to love over these past moons. She thought of her brother, Frostshine, who she couldn't see... She thought of her five kits... Skyecho cried out in pain, but it came out as less than a squeak.
Maybe I'm okay now, she thought faintly. It doesn't really hurt anymore...
As the sun set (was the sun setting or was her vision fading?), a strange scene played before her eyes.

Her beautiful kits, all five of them - wait... Three? Where were the other two... One in the middle, the smallest, the sweetest, stood amongst them, growing rapidly. From nowhere, an owl screeched, flew down, and scored it's claws across the grown tom's eyes. He cried out in pain but stood his ground, a star falling from the sky and resting on his forehead, outshining the darkness around him...

Skyecho gasped softly... What a wonderful, wonderful thing! Her beautiful kit? Her child? She felt the greatest pride for all of them!
As Skyecho breathed out the air from that one gasp, her legs gave out from under her and she knew only starlight.
"It's alright now, my sweet," whispered a kind, familiar voice.

Skyecho died.


Sleetcoat launched himself at Cloudfeet, and Rainfoot, not really knowing what to do, followed his former mentor, and attacked the warrior.

[Longstorm]

Jade smiled as the she-cat died on the far side of the clearing, and, knowing no one was watching unsheathed her claws and scored them across Thornstar's throat.

Thornstar looked at the she-cat in shock, choking on his own blood. He staggered towards the she-cat, murder in his eyes.

Greenie leaped back at Sunmist, latching onto her back, biting the back of her neck.

Sunmist let go of Smokepelt and twisted around, trying to throw the smelly stranger off of her back, yowling in anger.
Finally, she lunged against the bramble wall, thorns digging into Greenie's face.

Again, Greenie let go, screaming as he was blinded by the long thorns. He fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

Blinking the blood from her eyes, Sunmist's vision cleared. She spotted her brother, jumped clear over Smokepelt, and collided with Lightningpelt.

From the bushes, Silverpaw winced as she listened to the cries of pain. She pressed against Goldpaw, wishing she knew what to do.

[Guest]

Frostshine performed one of the many advanced moves he'd learned over the many years. He leaped over Smokepelt, scoring his claws across the tom's back as he sailed over him. He landed smoothly, clawing the ground as he skid to a stop. He spun around, facing the tom with burning eyes.

Jaycall joined the fray, shaking off his fears. Seeing that Redstar was in trouble, he jumped onto the back of Blackear, biting and tearing off one of the black ears the tom was named after.

[Meany]

Blackear shrieked in pain, a sound that could be called unholy. He released Redstar and fell away, running in a tight circle, trying to shake away the terrible pain where his ear once was.

Foamingwater suddenly stopped, looking at the two of his companions who had already fallen. He looked back at Jade then to Skyecho, the faint scent of milk coming off of her.
He hung his head.
No. This wasn't what he signed up for.
The tom turned tail and fled, running out of the camp as quickly as possible.

Cloudfeet turned to face Sleetcoat and Rainfoot - he nearly fled himself, but he managed to stand his ground.
He fell to the ground and rolled, coming face-to-face with Rainfoot, a warrior under Cloudfeet's experience level, and he lashed his claws out at the tom's eyes.

Outside, Bronzepaw stood away from his brother and sister. He watched Foamingwater flee, and, in a moment of brief insanity, or maybe something else, he took off after the strange tom, more curious than anything.

[Longstorm]

Greenie, seeing through fading vision that Foamingwater had fled, took off a shuffling pace - this was all too much. No more!
He fled, wailing as he left.

Jade looked at Thornstar, pleased with herself as he fell over, trembling harshly. Finally, he exhaled sharply and went still.
Jade yowled to the skies - she'd won! She had been told she'd never succeed, but now she had!

Meanwhile, In Starclan...

"Do your best, isn't that what I told you?" A soft voice purred. "Now, you must do that more than ever, Thornkit, Thornpaw, Thornfoot, Thornstar..."

Thornstar spun around, his mind clearing for the first time in years.
"What..."
He came face to face with... Himself!!? Thornstar jumped back, yowling in surprise. He stopped and looked closer at his double, now realizing that this was, in fact, his eight lives joined together. His lives could not see him, not until his final life had been given away for his Clan. The lives moved on, stalking some starry mouse.
Though he couldn't see them, Thornstar could sense the presence of many other cats - his friends, his family, his ancestors. One of them had spoken, not his lives.
Thornstar knew that when he returned to the living world, so would his madness.
The old, gray leader closed his amber eyes as the mist formed around him, the mist that would soon take him back just one more time.

Back in the Living World...

Sunmist bounced away from Lightningpelt and Smokepelt, then bounced back - then froze. She saw Thornstar's still form and Jade leering over it.
"Thornstar," she yowled, old habits kicking in.

[Runfast]

Redstar threw off the now few cats that were on him. He smashed White's face into the dirt then rushed to help Gorseclaw, who was still weakened from the previous attack.

Foxclaw and Blizzardgaze leaped onto him, dragging him down. Blizzardgaze bit into Redstar's shoulder, but Redstar spun around and maneuver Foxclaw so he was thrown off.
Foxclaw snarled and jumped back at him - Redstar, shaking off Blizzardgaze by slamming his head into her's.

Blizzardgaze stumbled back, shaking her head.

Redstar spun in a circle, going to the side and sinking his teeth into Foxclaw's neck, shaking the smaller cat roughly.

Foxclaw tried to wrench out of the stronger tom's grasp, lunging forward.

Redstar went the other way and reared up (only lifting the other tom slightly) and slammed him down.
A sickening 'snap' sounded and Foxclaw went still.

Blizzardgaze looked at her mate and wailed in anguish, thinking of the kits she carried. She backed down, crouching, her head hanging.

Redstar looked down at the tom - he'd been present for the kit's introduction to the Clan! Redstar shook his head and turned to Smile, who was still causing trouble.

Longflight, having seen his former apprentice's death, let out a battle cry and landed on Redstar's back, biting his sides and back.

[Meany]

OOC: Totally forgot about Robinsong...

IC: Robinsong stopped what she was doing and watched as Jade crowed over her father's body. Her father's body.
"SssTOOOOOOOOOOP!" She shrieked.

Smokepelt and Lightningpelt froze, since they were closest.

"KILLLLL THEM!!" Robinsong yowled. "KILLLL HERRR!"

Smokepelt dodged Frostshine and lunged with Lightningpelt, towards Smile.

Robinsong yowled a terrifying battle cry and flew at Jade, her claws stretching at the smug she-cat.

[Longstorm]

Jade spun around, looking at Robinsong with a cool expression. She easily side-stepped the she-cat and flung her own pair of claws the insane she-cat's way.

Sunmist and Gorseclaw joined Robinsong, running to help their Clan-mate.

Thornstar felt the life coming back to him, but he was still weak. He opened his amber eyes, his paws twitching.

Jade spun, dodging the siblings in a smooth motion and yowled,
"It's time!"

From the East side of the camp, the one pressed against a steep hill, more strangers jumped down.
The cats yowled and screamed (OOC: I'm in the mood for a big fight, anyone else? ), numbering in the twenties. They rushed the Clan cats, ready for a good meal. The pawns. The rejects. The sickly ones. This was who they were.

[Runfast]

Redstar, now in a hurry, flung off Longflight and hissed,
"There's more important things to do, now!" Now, he killed Smile, just like that. He spun away from the body and joined his Clanmates, none of them pausing in their running.

Goldpaw, sick of waiting, burst out of the bushes, running alongside his leader.

Longflight watched the cats charge the large group of cats, glanced at Blizzardgaze and mewed,
"Come on," and took off with them.

Blizzardgaze shook herself, looked at her love, and took off after them, yowling promises of death to the invaders.

The invading cats looked at the charging Clan cats and shrieked, charging the Clan.

[Guest]

Rainfoot, forgetting his deep injuries, limped after his Clanmates, Sleetcoat streaming ahead of him to meet the invaders head-on.

Jaycall and Frostshine joined their Clanmates, leaping to meet a group of the invaders from above.
The two crashed down atop a few of the scrawny, weak cats, flattening them. The two clawed and bit at the cats that were underneath them then moved on, splitting up.

Rainfoot barreled into a few she-cats, whipping around and clawing the cats as he spun around, drawing blood and sending cats screaming.

Sleetcoat jumped in, his sheer bulk knocking out two cats.
"Back to back," he yowled, and Rainfoot managed to come alongside his former mentor, facing the opposite way, the two both rearing up and bringing their claws down atop the heads of cats.

[Longstorm]

Silverpaw gasped when her bigger brother rush out, but she wasn't about to be outdone. She ran after her Clan, ready to give her life for it all.

Sunmist and Gorseclaw's pawsteps didn't falter for a second when they saw the large force of cats stream in.
Instead, they leapt into the tide of cats and stayed shoulder to shoulder, fighting the way paired fighters usually did, knocking down the pitiful fighters like twoleg's bowling pins.

OOC: These are weak cats. They were hoping to scare the Clan cats, or defeat them with their numbers - sadly, these cats aren't so good at working with one another.

Silverpaw joined up with her brother, doing her best to follow Sunmist and Gorseclaw's movements.

Jade hissed and ended up yowling,
"Fools! Stick together! Stick together!" But the cats, out of fear, kept splitting up, the shock waves the sea of cats caused making it obvious where the experienced Clan warriors were fighting.

Thornstar, forgotten and left as a dad body, slowly began to stand, his limbs shaking. The madness had sat back in, and all he could think was,
Traitor... Where is Silverfur?... Traitors...

[Meany]

Robinsong, having lost Jade in the crowd, settled for killing the invading cat closest to her.
Slash. Killed a young white she-cat. Bite. Killed an older brown tabby tom. Rip. Cream colored she-cat. Tear. Elderly black she-cat.

Smokepelt and Lightningpelt saw their Clanmates pair up and they did the same, slowly working their way towards the middle of the group, sending cats howling out of the camp as they went.
"Robinsong," yelled Cloudfeet. "Warriors don't need to kill to win a battle!"

Robinsong didn't care - she had to end this treachery, she had to avenge her father!

[Runfast]

Redstar slowly made his way towards Jade, fighting like the wind, Goldpaw at his side.

When Goldpaw saw his sister, he fell back, going shoulder-to-shoulder with her, yelling over the din,
"CLAW!" and the two clawed a she-cat's face, sending her howling.

Longflight and Blizzardgaze crashed into the crowd, sending cats spinning, running for their lives.
The two paired up as the others had, making the scrawny weaklings flee for their lives.
"Run away," called a young she-cat, "Run away!" and she and many others, bleeding profusely and limping, took off in the other direction.

"Don't let them get away," commanded Longflight, growing tired.

[Guest]

Flowerpaw was staring out of a bush, which hid her from the battle. Her mind whirled, what to do, what to do?!
Flowerpaw jumped as a black falcon landed next to her.
Rook nodded, and althouht the two had different languages, she understood the meaning: he was going to HELP her!
Yowling, she charged out of the bush, Rook squawking furiously beside her. She slashed at an intruder cat, and Rook helped by pecking at him until he fell over. Then the two pinned him down and bit his throat.
"We make a perfect team!" Flwoerpaw meowed.
Rook nodded, he was beginning to understand some of the cat's words.

[Longstorm]

Sunmist and Gorseclaw continued with their ferocious attack, and, upon hearing Longflight's command, chased after the wounded invaders, shrieking as they went.

Many of the invaders had made it out, more and more fleeing by the second even as they poured in.
When the reinforcements arrived, they saw what had happened to the first group and fled out of fear, scattering from the camp in all directions - anywhere but there! But there were still the loyal ones, around twenty left, who fought with Jade.

Silverpaw and Goldpaw became a minor force in the battle, the weak cats fleeing at even the inexperienced apprentices - of course, the two could only get at one cat at a time, and sometimes they needed the warriors to get second or third cats of their backs, but they still fought valiantly!

By the way, Jade looked around, angry that she had been abandoned by nearly all of the cats. She saw Redstar and leaped at him, yowling in anger.
"You! You had to come in NOW and ruin this! I had this all planned! I had the fool-tom exactly where I wanted him! WHY!?!?!"
