CLOSED Dewdrop Dreams

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop fell asleep the moment she stepped into the glow-chamber with the stalactites and stalagmites and whatnot. She just took one step inside - didn't even make it in - and fell over, asleep.
And now, she was trying to dream her way towards StarClan...

[Loki]

She would wake up first smelling burnt wood. The grass is black as far as she can see into the clearing. The trees around are hollow and dead, ebony skeletons of what once were beautiful structures of an emerald eco system.
Smoke whisps into the air which is thick and uncomfortable. There seems to be no life, everything is dead.

It wouldn't take an idiot to realise this is what is left of the Tawneyclan camp.

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop slowly stood and surveyed her surroundings. My StarClan, she thought. She looked out past the falling ash and smoke and could maybe make out the vague outline of perhaps mountains, a distant marsh - and she knew where she was. TawnyClan camp.
She looked around, mutely horrified by what had become of the once vibrantly green place. Wow... Then she remembered - she was here to speak to someone. But why bring her here?

[Loki]

"Welcome to my home, Dewdrop" came a soft, friendly voice.
Smoke cleared near a fallen log to reveal a tall silver tabby she-cat, Lokistar.
The previous Tawneyclan leader sat proudly upon the charred log, icy blue eyes watching Dewdrop with intrest.

[Longstorm]

"Oh, hello - " Dewdrop looked at the tall she-cat and recognized her immediately. "Lokistar," Dewdrop meowed respectfully, dipping her head.

[Loki]

Lokistar hopped off of the log and looked upwards to where branches once reared overhead. Strangely her pelt seemed shaded with dots where light shafts once penetrated a forest canopy, as if she were in the past when this forest was still alive, effecting the old she-cat's physical form.

"Its perfect here for winter," she says, "the trees provide excellent shelter. I remember training Daystar here long back when he was Daypaw. It seems like yesterday though." She stared into the distance, which to Dewdrop would seem like more charred forest but to Lokistar was a young apprentice sparring with another.

"I know why you have come, Dewdrop." Lokistar turned to the white she cat, "but its not time."

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop's eyes widened. "But I need to receive my nine so that I may become the next leader of DewClan, Lokistar," she protested. "DewClan needs a leader."

[Loki]

Lokistarshakes her head softly, sympathetically.
"You won't be recieving them today, not when there is so much doubt and fear," she says with finality.
the old leader sat in front of Dewdrop, her expression sof but searching. "Your frustrations remind me of Daystar as Daypaw when he wanted to become warrior. He had yet to prove himself but in his anger left Tawneyclan to create Dewclan. It was an impressive feat."
There was a sudden change in the wind.
"The battle will decide who will lead Dewclan and who will destroy Dewclan, whose love for the clan is stronger and more passionate. Only then when there is no doubt will the leader be announced."

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop stared at the leader then looked down at the ground. "Then...my position isn't enough? Could...Could Maplejay become leader of DewClan after all?" That b!tch. She was actually a little afraid that all of her efforts were going to be put down, deep in the ground, proven to be pointless.

[Loki]

"Have you given up with that on your mind Dewdrop?" Lokistar leaned closer slightly.

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop looked up at Lokistar. Her jaw set resolutely and she shook her head. "No. No I have not." Maybe it had looked like she could have given a big speech, but she left it at that.

[Loki]

Lokistar, seemingly pleased with the answer stood once more.
"The battle will decide."
The she cats body began to fade, smokey whisps peel away into the air.
The burnts clearing began to shudder, green shoots peeked through the floor, trees erupting with great canopies of lively green until once again the Tawneyclan camp was as emerald and lush as ever.

[Longstorm]

Dewdrop watched in awe as the scene around her transformed before her eyes. What if...
She suddenly realized the impact Daystar's choices had TawnyClan - what impact would they have on the future? Only time may tell.
Dewdrop closed her eyes as the trees grew and grass was sprouting beneath her paws. The scent of ash and new life filled her nose, and she felt the dream leave her, Lokistar's last words echoing in her mind.
The battle will decide? Fine, then. If that is what I must endure, then I will emerge victorious.
