DarkClan - Day in the Life

Redstar, leader of DarkClan, was seated on a rise overseeing the battle practices of his Clan below. They had been training for the past hour or so, and most everyone was on point.
Meanwhile, there were also a few cats maintaining patrols - some to watch out for the Mudbloods, others to look after the many traps the cats of DarkClan had been constructing over the past few days.

Redstar glanced over at the clump of bushes that made up one of DarkClan's basecamps - no, they weren't at their actual camp, no one was. They were all further down in the territory waiting for the Mudbloods to come and try to kill them. But DarkClan was more than ready for them.
But within the clump of bushes, Redstar knew, a TawnyClan queen and her kits were there. Sunmist, Cloudfeet, and Hollowstripe had explained to him that they had tried to get the kits in the Moonfall down in the lowlands to come with them, so that they would not be killed in the oncoming slaughter by the Mudbloods. This queen and her two kits were the only ones out of many who would come.

Redstar looked up at the sky; it was raining, and it was a rain with pale grey skies with plenty of light, unlike the past few weeks. Before it had been sleeting up in the mountains, but that had subsided. There was a little mist, but only just. The time must have been somewhere closer to midday than anything, Redstar assessed. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened down at the Moonfall, so far away.
Death, undoubtedly. Much death.
My warriors tried, he thought. They did not have to stay there - why did they even all gather in the center of the territories? They must have known it was suicide to allow themselves to be surrounded.Redstar thought about the conversation and reunions that had happened earlier that day...

OOC: I might change the time of day since I don't know if that's correct.
btw, thinking that we'll do a flashback scene.
