Snowfeather didn't see Sinewpaw's look for help since she was looking at the small she-cat. Snowfeather mewed, "No, no - I was a little sore from the fall, though."

Blackfire was thinking hard. Did the twolegs not come and go from this place? Did they hate other twolegs? The cats of the Clans had passed a 'barn' not too many quarter moons back, but that was in a clearing with gentle slopes...this place was just weird.

Beampaw turned to Snowfeather. "You need to stretch. Now, and later, so you don't get stiff." She spoke in a tone similar to the tone her mentor had used.
She was taking her duties a thousand times more seriously than she had a few weeks ago, when she was sworn in by Skymoon as the new medicine cat apprentice. Beampaw was no longer letting her thoughts wander to non-medicine cat things, like playing with her friends or daydreaming about flying over the mountains and to a strange place she'd never seen before.
No, now she needed to focus on healing, more than ever before.

OOC: Windface's self-sarcrifice really hit her hard. Also, she's inadvertently pushing a prophetic dream to the back of her mind, lols.

Leafheart looked at Stormstar, saddened to see that his leader's eyes were still glazed over, his expression still far away.
"Stormstar?"

Snowfeather dipped her head to the small medicine cat apprentice. "I'll be sure to follow your instructions," she purred. The white she-cat paused before turning to leave and mewed, "What's your name?"

Blackfire sighed heavily, entertaining thoughts of twolegs sprouting a thousand clawed legs and climbing the steep walls of the mountains, or sprouting wings and soaring like hawks, or having gills like fish and swimming through underground tunnels, all to just leave this place.
The tom shook his head.
I'm a fluff-minded as a kit, he scolded himself. Blackfire looked around the twoleg place, smelled the strange scent that was smooth yet disgusting.
I need air...

Whitelight watched her nieces interact, glad to see that Beampaw had perked up so quickly. Though, she was still a little worried about her...
She would speak to Otterpool later. The medicine cat knew the little she-cat well, and Whitelight knew that Beampaw would take to heart whatever advice Otterpool gave.

For the thousandth time since he'd gotten there, Cloudscar looked around the inside of the strangest den he'd ever seen.
The bedraggled warrior had slept for a bit, but this place was too strange for him. The idea that anything would like to live in a place like this - or a 'twolegplace,' as the Clan cats had called it, was far too unappealing for the mountain cat.
Cloudscar heard Stormstar's name being uttered. He looked over to see Leafheart trying to rouse the old leader. Cloudscar frowned in concern.
He stood on stiff legs and slowly padded towards the two, minding his pulled claw.

Joy watched through small slits by the two-leg structure walls. They were strange compared to the walls of the tunnels which were rugged and curved, these were exactly ninety degrees and it occured to the large she-cat that they were so obsessive about this. She vaguely remember warehouse walls being so straight with such a big surface area, though these thoughts were obsolete as she made the effort to look as if asleep.

She wondered whether the two-legs road those dear or sometimes referred to as horses out of their little village but was unsure whether it was possible for those clumsy creatures to rough such steep slopes.
She was not as foolish to believe they would sprout wings because it was simply un heard of.

Maybe they kept giant birds and flew on them? But where would they keep these birds and wouldn't they be able to smell their putrid ammonia? She sighed in discontent and let her thought wonder back to home.

Sinewpaw decided to socialize, if Mosspaw wasn't around then why not find a new friend to talk to. That Abbysclanion she-cat had lost his attention, she was grumpy and mean like all the abbysclanion stories he was told was, though he was slightly affronted at that... Blackfire who could rival the she-cats grumpiness.
He shrugged thoughtfully.

IC: Leafheart was starting to believe that Stormstar may never come out of his strange trance-like state - trance-like since he was sitting upright - but he turned his thoughts away from that as he turned at the sound of Cloudscar's footsteps.
Leafheart dipped his head to the older warrior. "Cloudscar," he greeted him formally with the one word. Leafheart's tone had a touch of curiosity to it, but he didn't want to ask outright what the senior warrior wanted.

Stormstar blinked once, twice, then licked his lips. He turned his eyes to Leafheart, then to Cloudscar.
Both valuable warriors, he thought.
Revelling in this lucid moment, Stormstar began to think.
The old tom sighed softly. He should have retired moons ago, what with his growing fragility, yet he had refused.
Pride? Fear?
Stupidity?
Stormstar wasn't sure which it was anymore. Everything he knew was slowly and surely leaving his mind. His paws grew number every day, and he was sure his thick pelt was thinning.
Nine long season-cycles he had served his Clan. Nine long years he had given everything to Sky-Moon.
Has it all been worth it?
Yes. Yes, yes, yes it had been, yes it still was. Stormstar knew with every breath he still had in his body that it was all worth it. He knew that his Clan would find a better home.
What of the tribes?
They would thrive, as they always had. The Clan leaving would not affect them negatively. Their belief in the Tribe of Endless Hunting would soften any blow of betrayal they felt, if they felt it at all.
Yes. They would be fine. Well...he didn't really know that.
What of your own Clan?
Now was the time to speak. Before he had fallen into a fog, like Otterpool had said he might (blessed Otterpool), but Sky-Moon had guided him, and through him, his Clan to safety.

"Leafheart." Stormstar's voice was like ice scraping over rocks due to lack of use. "Cloudscar."

IC: Leafheart jumped when he heard Stormstar's voice. He spun around to look at him, making sure that yes, Stormstar had spoken to him. Upon seeing how clear Stormstar's eyes were, he dipped his head.
"Stormstar - it's - I -" Leafheart sighed in relief. "It's good to see you."

Sinewpaw looked up brightly at the chattering cats and thought of ideas on what to do next, imagining himself making this amazing idea up and then all the praise... He just needed the awesome idea.
Joy looked up too, her grumpy shape lying in the corner of the hangar, she'd made a loner out of her self.
maybe she deserved the absence of other cats, her nasty mood was a turn off for most decent cats.
She lay her head back down on her paws with a humph.

If Otterpool had been speaking to anyone (OOC: Because I don't remember), she stopped and looked to see where Leafheart had gone. The medicine cat saw that Stormstar appeared to be lucid, and her heart swelled with praise for Skymoon.
Otterpool bounded over to the tom and mewed, "Stormstar, it's good to see you awake! Are you alright? How is your head? Do you have any aches? You must be hungry."

Stormstar turned his glassy eyes to his medicine cat. "Otterpool," he murmured in recognition.
After a long pause the tom shook his head awkwardly, blinking like his eyes were made of thick, gummy wax.
"No, no..." He turned back to Cloudscar and Leafheart. "Leafheart, Leafheart..." Stormstar's legs began to tremble slightly. "Where," he found himself needing to speak faster than he could breath. "Where- Sunclaw? Sunclaw..." He looked around slowly for the yellow she-cat.
She's not here.
Then he had to tell whoever he could what he could.

Leafheart padded even closer to Stormstar. The leader's breath smelled stale.
"No, Stormstar," the young tom mewed. "I'm sorry; we have yet to see her...But we're here, Stormstar. Nearly the entire Clan is here, alive, praise be to Sky-Moon." He nodded as he spoke, a faint purr in his voice.

The leader nodded in understanding. "Leafheart," he breathed. "Leaf..." He coughed, his trembling becoming more obvious as he tried to lean closer to the young warrior. "Wings," he wheezed. "Wings will..." Stormstar collapsed.
No! No! I have so much more to say, he thought frantically. So much more! Sky-Moon, please, please, for all of my years given to you, give this minute! This one, simple minute! Let me serve my Clan one more time! Please...
The small gray tom fell into an unnatural sleep. Not dead, but not quite living either.
Stormstar didn't have very long at all to live.

IC: Leafheart's eyes widened. "Stormstar? Stormstar!" He knelt next to the tom and nudged him with his nose.
"Stormstar," he whispered sadly when he didn't respond. Leafheart bowed his head.

Whitelight drew nearer to the situation. Upon seeing Stormstar on the ground, she yowled out in dismay.
"Stormstar!"

Cloudscar's whiskers drooped and he swore that he could feel his heart stop for a moment. "Otterpool, what do we do?!?"

Snowfeather looked up from her laying place and stood stiffly. "What's happening?"

Blackfire, hearing the commotion from outside, stuck his head inside of the hangar and looked around. "What is it? What's wrong?" His eyes were a little wild. Blackfire loped inside and saw the growing group of cats.
"Stormstar," he mewed in shock. "No, no, Stormstar." He looked at Otterpool. "Can we do anything?"

OOC: Do we really need everyone? I mean, Commons, Scorchpoint - let them all rot in the other mountain, I say, and let's GO HOME!

IC: Otterpool shook her head sadly. "No," she sighed. "No, there is nothing to do but try," she looked around and flicked her tail towards the odd, crinkly stuff, "try and make him comfortable." She looked at the hysteric crowd. "We must say our goodbyes. Stormstar will walk with Sky-moon soon."

Raypaw, having joined the crowd, felt her heart cave in. Without saying anything, she went and joined her sister, very sad.

Joy came forward to see what all the buzz was about, she had been woken from her slumber.
The large Abbysclan she-cat lost her grumpiness at the sight of Stormstar.
"Maybe I could carry him?" She offered, not thinking much of it. She was a large cat after all (thanks to her ancestral routes).
"Maybe he'll stay with us long enough to see or at least be with us in the lowlands?" She looked around the large, open two-leg made cave with disapproval as she muttered, "s'pose we cannot just leave him here.... can we?"
She thought that maybe this would be why she had been chosen to come. Thanks to being related to Bone, who had been known for being a big-boned cat, she would carry this leader... to his death place... if they ever got there.

Outside...

Sunclaw, deputy of MoonClan, leading two others, stopped in her tracks. Gasping for breath after such a long, reckless run, the she-cat looked the strange structure up and down, wondering whatever it could be meant for.
Raineyes, panting, scented the air, as did Sunclaw.
"MoonClan," they exclaimed simultaneously. The yellow deputy looked at the warrior and gestured for caution.
The tom nodded and they both crept towards and into the hangar.

Inside...

Stormstar could hear them, but he knew he wouldn't be able to say anything. Not in time.
He gave out a single, rasping cough and began to convulse. (OOC: Honestly, very little time has passed since this post and him falling over.) The leader gave out a thin, hissing screech, then went limp.
The breath left his body. Stormstar was dead.

Sunclaw and Raineyes were inside now. They could see many of their Clanmates, and many more of the Other-Clanners. Oddly enough, they all seemed to be gathering around something...Someone...
Sunclaw let out a cry of anguish. She could see Stormstar through a gap in the crowd around the dead leader, and she had been shaken to her core at witnessing her beloved leader's death.
"Stormstar," she yowled, bounding to stand at the dead leader's side, even as others gave gasps of surprise at Sunclaw's sudden appearance. Not after I've just found you - not after I swore to save MoonClan! Oh, Stormstar, Stormstar... Sunclaw buried her nose in Stormstar's thick fur, silent.
Raineyes had followed tenetively after Sunclaw, worried that the Other-Clanners may turn on them at any moment.
"Stormstar," he murmured sorrowfully.
Sunclaw lifted her head to look around at the cats surrounding her. She bit back a hiss when she saw Blackfire, and the others. She spotted Otterpool and hissed, "How? How did Stormstar die?" She bit the last word harshly, hating that it was true.
