Cold and Mosspaw Empty Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Mon Feb 25, 2013 6:33 am

OOC: Mosspaw and Cold sort of dropped off of my roleplaying radar Evil or Very Mad

IC: Mosspaw of TawnyClan and Cold of AbyssClan were outside the two-legplace.
Mosspaw was feeling rather embarrassed over the fact that she had rubbed her cheek against the taciturn Choosing's when she'd found him outside of the two-legplace. So now she was pretending it had never happened - so was Cold.
The calico apprentice was quiet as she remembered the avalanche. It felt like it had been years ago, but it had only been earlier that day that it had happened.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Cold was thinking about their current situation objectively. They were giving the twoleg-place a wide berth, heading south.
Falling down a mountain had done nothing to shake the Choosing's attitude. Sure, it had been a difficult and painful thing, but becoming a Warrior was a difficult and painful thing. It was something that would be worthwhile to him for the rest of his life. Falling down a mountain - this entire journey - had taught him things; the incompetence of some; the temperaments of mountains; the varying attitudes of those in leadership and those who followed; the characteristics of other Clans; that others were often more than they seemed, but also exactly as they seemed (it varied from cat to cat, something based off of various factors in their lives, the different influences and beliefs, and the current situation and how they perceived others around them along with how they perceived themselves, ect., ect.) and more.
Cold was becoming confident that he would do well in life, in AbyssClan, even with the leadership change and the probable change in policies and traditions and hierarchy. He would do well. He would be a valuable asset to his Clan. A cold, calculating, valued asset of AbyssClan.
And the forests will fall to us for it, he thought with pleasure. Cold could just see how his efficiency could help throw his Clan into an era of power. He relished the thought.

The Choosing's thoughts turned towards the others and the twoleg-place. A question that came up was how would they get out of this annoying valley? The valley was all almost completely sheer cliffs. And yet, there were twolegs here. He doubted that they all fell down the mountainside as the cats had.
The tom nearly sighed aloud at the puzzle. The answer was probably some twoleg thing - twoleg things oft times confused him.
Cold's green eyes narrowed as he fell into deeper thought.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Fri Mar 22, 2013 7:18 am

Mosspaw kept glancing at the mysterious AbyssClan tom. The tom's continued silence put her off, but since he seemed smart and wasn't trying to murder her (yet) (as she thought a cat of AbyssClan would do as soon as look at you), she figured that it was better than being alone. Together, they'd probably find the others. Then we can keep on trying to get MoonClan back to our home - as soon as we figure out how to get out of here first, I guess...

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

With each pawstep the question repeated in Cold's mind. How do we get out of here, how do we get out of here, how do we get out of here, how do we get out of here, and repeat. It angered him. It was some idiotic two-leg thing, it had to be. Otherwise he would be able to figure it out quickly. Just another thing to learn, he told himself in an attempt to calm down. How would Scorchpoint react? Cold silence, Cold knew. The mute Warrior regarded everything with cool interest and seemed to contemplate things quickly yet wisely before continuing. Not that Cold knew that for certain, since that Warrior had never uttered a single syllable that he'd heard about.
But Cold couldn't act in burning anger. He had to be like his name - he had to be Cold.

OOC: *Indiana Jones theme*

IC: Meanwhile...

A strange buzzing noise slowly grows louder in the distance. Tom Manners is piloting his plane through the mountains and towards the village.
He began the beginning landing stages (OOC: too lazy to Google the actual terms) and began to lessen his altitude...

OOC: Probably near the cats...? What a Face

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Sun Apr 21, 2013 9:14 pm

Cold and Mosspaw both stopped and looked up abruptly at the sound. "What in the name of StarClan," Mosspaw exclaimed, fur bristling.
That's a two-leg monster, Cold thought, shocked. A two-leg monster - with wings! His shock was quickly replaced with self-satisfaction. I knew it.
Mosspaw was tense, her heart racing. She was considering finding a place to hide; large birds carried away cats all the time, or so she'd heard! But Cold didn't seem to be too worried. He seemed...happy? It was an eerie thing to see the gleam of happiness in the taciturn AbyssClannian's eyes. Cold met her gaze and smirked briefly.
Then he resumed his course, but he was much faster this time. Mosspaw took off after him, confused. "Wait," she called, "You're following it? Why are we following it?" No answer. "Hello!??!" Nothing, he just kept following the bird-thing.
I hope this quiet loony doesn't get us both killed, she thought uneasily, unwilling to allow the AbyssClan tom to leave her by herself.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Wed Apr 24, 2013 12:20 am

Though the weird two-leg thing had already vanished from sight Cold still followed its path from the ground.
Mosspaw was surprised at the tom's determination over crossing the hundreds of meters that still lay before them. It looked as though he was refusing to stop at all.
We can't run the entire way, she thought as her legs began to burn.
Cold was feeling somewhat the same. But that didn't change the fact that he wanted to keep running, that he wanted to reach the two-leg thing with wings as soon as cat-ly possible. He was growing tired, though. Cold spat as he misstepped once and his back claws felt as though they had caught on something briefly, nearly sending him head-over-tail. He escaped the fall by leaping mid-stumble, bringing himself to a sliding halt. Cold stood up straight, shaking his pelt briskly as he exhaled sharply. Well. That was close. He cursed his lack of awareness of his surroundings.
Cold turned around to see Mosspaw catching up to him. She skidded to a halt, gasping for breath. "You're," gasp, "CRAZY."
Cold looked to the side then back at her with a shrug.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:57 pm

Mosspaw shook her head and scoffed after catching her breath. "Are all AbyssClannians so reckless," she asked incredulously. "That's not how I would have pictured them."
Cold shrugged again. He looked back at the way the thing had gone and resumed walking, much to Mosspaw's surprise. "Great," she muttered. The TawnyClan apprentice exhaled sharply and slowly willed back her normally cheery mood. Some sleep and a good meal would have helped, but her willpower and optimism would have to do for now!

Some Silent Walking Later...

Cold's thoughts were overcome with plots and facts. He knew that there were oddities in Mosspaw's spoken history (he'd realized it a few weeks back), and he was certain that he knew why he'd noticed. Giving up kits or joining a Clan suddenly and pitifully was a common tactic used by spies from AbyssClan. And oh, how closely the TawnyClan apprentice resembled one calico Protector of a size. "I never knew my father..." "My mother pleaded to TawnyClan..." It was all too obvious that Mosspaw had been given to TawnyClan for the sole purpose of growing up to be a spy. Cold wasn't stupid; he'd let the topic lie since Mosspaw was obviously chin-deep in her mission, and she really was doing a fine job of it.
Besides, the information would probably be useful later in life.
Cold knew and suspected a great many things. He suspected that Scorchpoint was related to Searingeyes. He knew that there was another AbyssClan spy within the Questers, if not two, though he wasn't certain of their identities (but he had his suspicions.) He had suspected, and now knew for certain, that the Servants had been planning something back in AbyssClan.
He knew many, many things.
Now all he had to do was learn how to use what he knew. Then he could begin.

Mosspaw was bored. Usually she'd be the one to keep up a conversation regardless of who's company she was keeping, but she was tired and wherever Cold was leading them didn't seem to be getting any closer. She sighed heavily, thinking of the twisting trees of her forest home and of her friends, and of Jace, and even a bit about Sinewpaw, then sighed again.

The two kept on walking.

Mosspaw wished Cold would speak. She was over being annoyed at him and now just felt horribly by herself. It if wasn't for the light sounds of the tom's paws on the brittle ground, she would have forgotten that he was next to her. Honestly. Mosspaw wasn't certain how to start a conversation with the taciturn tom.

And so she DIDN'T start a conversation with the tactiturn tom. Honestly, he was just annoying her now. It didn't even seem like he had a particular reason for being quiet all of the time. Cold just seemed to PREFER it! Now THAT was a foreign concept to Mosspaw, if one was ever.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Mon Jul 01, 2013 3:14 am

Cold preferred it if Mosspaw would just keep her spotted TawnyClan yap shut. She was a female for Above's sake, and not a very intelligent one.
Or was she? No, she wasn't. She wasn't normal, and she was very intelligent.
Cold was feeling winded. And hungry. And achy. He was a little grumpy.
Not that he would ever let on how he was feeling. He was to be a Warrior, and - I feel like I've thought about this before... That just pissed him off more.
He walked with a dark expression on his face.

Mosspaw was tired. She wanted to lay down, catch her breath, and sleep forever. But was the big two-leg thing in the distant distance getting closer? At all? She couldn't tell.
Mosspaw wondered what was happening back home. She wondered what her mentor was doing, what her friends were doing.
She sighed.
From here she wasn't able to do her job. She couldn't report anything to home. She couldn't watch Lokistar and Ezziesong from here, listen to them, memorize every little word so she could relay it later to a bird or a cat. She missed the smell of home - the dark, the pine - she wanted to go back.
What can I possibly learn here? Something called Tribes and they had found MoonClan.
And they were walking.
Too much walking.
"Too much walking," she panted. Cold looked back at her and noted her equal-grumpiness at walking. He looked back at the building they were heading towards. Maybe a sunshift and they'd be there.
He wouldn't stop until they were there.

Cold and Mosspaw Empty Re: Cold and Mosspaw

Post by Runfast Wed Jul 24, 2013 6:22 pm

Mosspaw winced as she walked, as her journey-toughened pads had swelled and cracked with the change of climate and terrain. She knew that her pads had been bleeding off and on, and the avalanche certainly hadn't been a help.
Above, Icepaw's such a dung-brain. She also hadn't eaten in a couple days. THAT made her grumpy. Why couldn't there be prey somewhere around here? Somewhere close? Food? Why couldn't the cats of MoonClan have given them food or something anyway?
Mosspaw's stomach grumbled just as irritably as she was. Guess I don't sound a whole lot like a warrior, she thought grumbily.

Cold had been hungry for a while, too, but had chosen to ignore it. There are more trees the way we're going - I can hunt there! The thought excited him more than he liked. Warriors were meant to be strong and stoic, and never let on that they had any weaknesses.
His own pads weren't agreeing with the change of climate either but he was also ignoring that.
Cold's tired, under-nourished muscles would have liked it if he had sat and stopped to get something to eat, but he wouldn't stop! He refused to stop! Nothing could make him stop!

Mosspaw noticed that Cold's pace was slowing gradually.
